I've never done a pre-trip report before but I'm too excited not to share plans for my grandson's first trip to WDW later this week. We have two celebrations - Aiden's first trip (he just turned 2) and his Mom's 29th birthday. Here's what we have planned so far:
BuffaloBill and I get up early Friday to catch the first SWA nonstop out of MHT - arriving 10:35. Once we get the rental car, we head to Publix or Winn-Dixie for essentials like Almond Milk and beer (both Aiden and his mom have milk allergies). We're going to drop off the bags and groceries at VWL and check-in (I'm assuming the room won't be ready at noon). We then have to head back to the airport and pick up the Texas travelers at 1:15 (won't Aiden be surprised to see Grandma at the airport!).
Depending on hunger, naps, moods - we'll either head to the resort or straight to DHS where we have fast passes for Disney Jr Live on Stage.
We're planning dinner at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Hope to let Aiden run around a bit after dinner before taking the boat back to the Lodge. I'm SO hoping he'll sleep OK at the hotel - we have a 2 BR villa and requested a full size crib - plus I have a small sound machine.....whatever works!
I also ordered an in room Birthday surprise - balloons and treats. I went to the party store here and purchased Disney plates, napkins and temporary tattoos....you just can't have too much party stuff!
MK is open late Friday night so after Aiden is asleep - 2 of us will head out for some more fun - probably BuffaloBill and Aiden's mom, Liz.
Saturday and Sunday are MK days with FP+ at Dumbo, Alladin's Magic Carpet, It's a Small World, etc. Also have to go on the train, carousel, see the parade....
Saturday night we have ADRs at Cape May and Sunday night we plan to go to Whispering Canyon. Monday morning we have a breakfast ADR at Rain Forest Cafe at AK. We'll spend a few hours checking out the animals before heading back to the airport. We all have flights around 3:30.
So that's the condensed version of our long weekend getaway. Even though it's only a few days, I have 2 spreadsheets to keep track of everything. I also made a stroller placard so Aiden can find has rig. They are bringing his umbrella stroller. I also rented a full size stroller just in case (can you say "overthink"?!)
