Here's a link to an article I wrote last year about 3 great safari experiences.
http://www.wdwforgrownups.com/articles/three-fantastic-african-safaris-walt-disney-world-resort

And Angie's Trip Report included the Wild Africa Trek

Lunch at Sanna is also a fantastic opportunity for Animal viewing on the Sunset Savanna, you don't have to be staying at the resort to eat there and view the animals.

There's always the Backstage Safari tour, it's a little pricey, but I liked it enough to do it on 2 different occasions.

Most of the specialized animal programs are special perks of being a Disney guest, or geared towards adults for safety reasons.

What sort of Animals are you most wanting to see? Ones that will thrill you or your children?

Animal Kingdom has a wide variety of experiences that have animals besides the Kilimanjaro Safari, there's a bird show, and a jungle walking path, Rafiki's Planet Watch is geared towards kids and has a couple of animal experiences.

As I mentioned above, Sanaa is the best place for viewing Animals while dining. Lunch is the best choice because the savanna is not lit at night.

Here's a picture of my daughter sitting at our table at Sanaa, that Zebra on the other side of the window was maybe 30 feet from us.

Here's a picture of Becks534, you can see a Crowned Crane (named Wilbur) right up next to the window over her shoulder. Wilbur and Rueben jumped the fencing there on the savanna and now live right up against the windows at Sanaa. They are very entertaining.

It's awesome! We had Giraffes right against the window by us the whole time we were there and an ostrich.

This guy was so happy to see us he smiled!

My scallop app at Sanaa.

I think Sanaa's food is fantastic, especially at lunch.

DFB just shared the new Lunch Menu here http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013/04/30/news-sanaa-at-the-animal-kingdom-lodge-unveils-new-lunch-menu-with-some-surprises/

Here's a link to the kids menu

I'm not always real adventurous when it comes to food, but I've had lunch there three times now and always was happy with what I ordered. My favorite lunch item is the Tandori Chicken Sandwich, which was super flavorful and the bread service rocks my world. They bake the Naan fresh in a special tandoori when you order it. Delish!

I had lunch at Sanaa and it was delicious. I had the butter chicken and beef short ribs.

In general I do not like Indian food at all. I really enjoy Sanaa though, it's a fusion of Indian and African flavors.
