Trying to decide trip dates

We are trying to decide which 2 weeks - from mid-October to the end of November. Last year we were at Fort Wilderness campground from Nov. 5-16 with 10-day park hopper passes, which allowed us to experience the Food & Wine Festival and have a few days after the Festival. Epcot seemed more crowded the last couple days of the Festival and seemed empty after the festival ended and all the food booths were removed, sort of deserted. We would not attend the Halloween Party at the MK, but we did enjoy the Food & Wine Fest. We will get the Dining Plan again.

Any suggestions for dates, insight for which dates, or reasons for choosing our 2 weeks? Once I get this decision made I can start on the ADRs. Getting excited!!

That's a really transitory time at WDW. In October you have the fall decorations at Magic Kingdom, and Food & Wine Festival, but then everything has begins to change over to the Winter Holiday holiday decor. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party starts November 8th at the Magic Kingdom. Do you mind the crowds of Food & Wine? or do you prefer it slower?

Well you better be deciding quick my friend because we're going Oct 19 and that's down to the 168 days for making ADR's and we already couldn't get back in to Be Our Guest.

The end of Oct gets busy for Halloween and Nov gets busy for Thanksgiving so I would go anytime other then the holiday weeks.

I think we'd prefer dealing with the crowds at Epcot's F&W Fest (and having the ability to use our snack credits there to sample the food) rather than being unable to be at the MK so many nights because of the MNSSHP. We enjoyed the F&W Fest last year and won't go to the Halloween party.

Maybe our first day of park visits will be Oct. 30. The MNSSHP will keep us out of MK at night on 10/31 & 11/1, but we can go see Fantasmic, which we missed last year. And that would let us see the Osborne Family Lights again starting on 11/8. I think the marathons on 11/8 & 11/9 will make the parks busier, but we can take a break from the parks with 14 days to use our 10 day park passes.

Yes, this is a transition time and it was fun to experience last year. When we arrive there will be Halloween decorations & magically overnight the Christmas decorations start to appear. Just last week I realized we were about 180 days away so I'm anxious to start on the ADRs. Thank you for the input.

I've done Food & Wine during its final week and the crowds aren't bad on the weekdays, especially if you're there when the booths open and lines are short. Then the final weekend, oh my freaking God, those were the worst crowds I've ever seen. We also went once right after the festival closed, and you're right, Epcot seems like a ghost town. But that's cool if you've already done the festival booths and just want to enjoy the Epcot attractions.

If it were me I'd plan for two weeks during F&W because I love it so much and never have a chance to try everything, or get second (and third) helpings of my favorite stuff.
