Thanks everyone!

I'm nervous, but I really need the pain to go away.

The January before Becks' wedding I can remember thinking that I just had to hold off until after the wedding and then I would get it fixed. Well, it's about 18 months later and I never got it fixed. sad Don't hold off too long, it will get worse, it's just a game of chicken in knowing when.

I had a root canal a couple of years ago. I was a nervous wreck because of all the stories I heard. After it was done, I thought to myself "that was it". It wasn't bad at all. Get it taken care of.

Kristen I hope all is well and you are feeling relatively okay. There is not person who doesn't have a horror story about the dentist but just know that you are in good company.

Oh, yikes Kristen!! Glad it's over and you are resting comfortably.

I think I got the corner on being a big baby....I forced Joe to be in an appropriate position to catch me if I passed out when they removed my hand stitches today....and there were just 3 of them. I had to look the other way when the PA did it. silly

Good morning friends!

I got to the dentist yesterday and met the oral surgeon for the first time. He took one look at my x-rays and say "Well that's a crap shoot." - not off to a good start. He explained that the teeth were very close to my sinuses and that I also had a wisdom tooth in the way, so there was a real possibility of doing some more damage while he was pulling the two broken teeth.

He looked at me and said "Are you *sure* you don't want sedation?" At which point I burst out crying and explained that I would love sedation but that our insurance is fairly worthless and wouldn't pay for it, that I was lucky we could get the teeth pulled at all. I told him that he could take the wisdom tooth too if they'd only knock me out. He asked me a few more questions and they said to stay put (because I was totally ready to bolt at tat point) that he'd be right back.

A half an hour later he had convinced corporate to let him sedate me gratis. I then proceeded to have the best dental experience ever. I usually have trouble with IVs - he got it on the first stick with almost no pain and it didn't blow out. I was out like a light, had a lovely little dream about British art (a la Monsters Inc credits - weird) and the next thing you know it was done and they were waking me up.

Easy easy easy. I was so very happy. I have quite a bit of pain and swelling today, but overall I'm feeling pretty good. This was MUCH easier than when I had a lower tooth removed two years ago. No kidding that lower one wiped me out for two weeks. I think that I'll be back to normal by Friday. It didn't seem to set my Fibromyalgia into a flare this time, which is something we always worry about.

I could not have asked for it to go better. awesome
