Tim Burton's - Dark Shadows

OMG...Zapper!!! I just read on your blog...DARK SHADOWS!!!! My favorite soap of all time! I used to race home from school to watch it, I can't wait to see Johnny Depp portrail of Barnabas Collins...hmmmm...who would be the perfect Angelique??

@Bali...this was a classic Gothic Soap Opera on US television in the mid 60s. Centered around the character of Barnabas Collins, a 175 yr old vampire who returned to his familial estate in Collinsport, Maine. Classic, campy, gothic, daytime horror!! Far superior to any of the "regular" soaps of the day, IMHO!

Of course I have always loved gothic horror, romance and suspense...anything dealing with the vampire genres. My high school english teacher was...shall we say...concerned...that I was so into the gothic thing. I just loved period novels with a supernatural slant...it's probably a good thing though that "goth" was not a style when I was in high school!! I wouldn't have looked so good with jet black hair and nails...hmmmm...maybe it wouldn't have been so bad with my green eyes!!! Hehehehe!!

Hmmmm...thinking back on one of my very favorite Halloween costumes...I think she just might be my alter-ego.

I was an "Elegant Vampire" one year for Halloween, donned the costume at 6 am for work and was in it until 3 am when I got home from the round of Halloween parties and festivities.

I had "gastly" lavender/white face makeup, gobs of black eyeliner, black lipstick and my hair wrapped in a black turban. I also found 10 years of filmy black fabric that I used to make a cape that "floated" behind me about 10 feet...scared the "bejeberrs" out of a little kid that morning. Honest, I didn't say a thing to him, all he did was take one look at me and RUN!! HEHEHEHEHE!!!

Not a big soap fan, but I do enjoy the macabre and gothic subject matter in general. Growing up I thought Wednesday Adams and Lydia Deetz were the hottest things on TV. Couple the aforesaid with a pension for Tim Burton's work and I'm officially interested.

I've never really be a soap fan either...just a bunch of silly, over emotional people...no offense intended to the fans out there...but give me a good gothic story and I'm all over it...now that I think about it, my Halloween costume was a little "Morticia" like awesome

She does happen to have fair skin and dark hair, but no, she is definitely not one of 'those'.
