Trips this Fall

We discussed it briefly in other threads, but I was curious to see how many of us are going in the fall and see if there is any overlap. We haven't picked exact dates but we're aiming for the end of September/Beginning of October for MNSSHP and F&W. Who else has plans for the Fall?

Not us, but that's when we went last year and it was awesome. Very cool to be able to take in two of the best events in one trip.

Our next trip just happens to be around that time, in fact Oct. 6 through Oct.20 of this year. For this trip we intend to drive down, one of the few trips that we have not flown. In fact we have not even made any ADR's at all and are planning to go off property for some of our evening meals. Think Golden Corral, Texas de Brazil, Golden Corral, Cicis pizza, Olive Garden, Chinese Restaurants and did I mention Golden corral for breakfast and dinner laugh rolling .

Poor guys. Having to coordinate your trips with other people being out of school is yet another reason that teachers have a rough gig.

Well, I am going in August for the pin event, so yes, we will be at WDW during that time and maybe a few days before.

Zz.

Oh yes laugh tried both breakfast and evening meal. it's not the most fancy food you can find but it's more than good enough for the price.

We will have to try to do that Bali. I am really looking forward to that trip. The one in June we are taking our kids and grand daughter so while I am looking forward to that one too, it will not be the Disney trip we are now use to.

Traveling with little ones?!?? eek

How old is the grand daughter?

We are booked for Sept 26- Oct 2. I could not get us into the Poly so after two days of non-stop resort talk, we decided on The Villas at Wilderness Lodge. We have not stayed there before nor have we even ever been there.

I love the VWL, Scrappy. They have some of the most incredibly relaxing "community rooms" in all of WDW. You should be sure to take the nature walk over to FW.

We love the Wilderness Lodge. We've never stayed at the villas. But the lobby and theme are our favorite parts anyway.

She will be around 20 months old when we go. Call us crazy because we did not take the boys until they were out of diapers and strollers but one tends to lose all sense of reasoning when doing for a grand child! Mr Hub and I are expecting to do mostly babysitting on this trip.

I suppose there are worse places to do babysitting! It will be interesting to see how you find travelling with such a young child.

Brad, even I will be interested to see what we think about that trip. Doing the trip with the family is why we booked again in September. While I think we will enjoy the trip with the kids I think we are both going to miss a lot of the "grown-up" things we do when it is just the two of us. The dinning we booked for the June trip is nothing like we normally do.

Ha ha! You've booked a vacation to relax after your vacation. That's my kind of planning! laugh

What did you book dining-wise for the "family" trip?

Annie,
I booked all character meals for our breakfasts. Lunches will be just whatever, and for dinner I booked, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, The Hoop de doo revue, Liberty Tavern, O'hana's, 50's Prime Time Cafe and The Plaza Restaurant. I wanted to keep the baby in places that I thought would already be noisy in case she is tired and cranky.

Mmm...I think the Plaza is an underrated restaurant. In fairness we've only eaten there once, but it was outstanding (real basic food, but fresh and really well done).

That's good thinking. As a grownup-er you're looking out for those of us who don't have kids with us! silly Those are all pretty fun places to eat though. Have you done them all before?

I agree about it being underrated. The biggest downside is how close together all the seating is. It's very clear it's an old-school restaurant.

We have never done the Hoop De Doo Revue or Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I am actually looking forward to both of them. And as far as the Plaza Restaurant goes, it is one of our favorites. I love the burgers there and of course the ice cream desserts are YUMMY! I am a little concerned about putting 6 and a high chair at a table in there though.

I've seen that many at a plaza table. They might give you two tables pushed together, but it'll be fine. Save room for dessert!

Also, I just did Hoop Dee Doo for the first time and really enjoyed it awesome It's definitely more fun with more people, though, so I think that was a great choice.
