WDW Resorts

I know we all have our favorite place to stay at WDW (WL, I mean it has a geyser fro crying out loud), but what is the resort that is at the bottom of your list. We have stayed at all of the value resorts and do not have anything bad to say about them. Unfortunately the Boardwalk Inn is at the bottom for us. Between the endless hallways, no in resort dining (you have to go to the Boardwalk), and overall decor that needed updating it's at the bottom of ours. It's only redeeming quality is that it is close to EPCOT. What are your thoughts?

We haven't stayed there, but the overall least appealing to me is Caribbean Beach. We visited briefly to look at Christmas decorations and I don't like the layout of the lobby as much as the other moderates. Also, the only store that we found was very small. Maybe there are others, but our first impression was 'wow, glad we picked POR the first time we stayed onsite!' as that is definitely our favorite moderate.

Of the values, I would be the least likely to choose AllStar Sports because I prefer the other themes. Of the deluxe resorts and villas, I would be least inclined to choose AKL. It seems to desolate and remote. I love animals, but the main reason that I would be willing to pay more to stay at a deluxe is for the variety of transportation options--of which AKL has none.

True about transportation, but I still looooove Jambo House. It is peaceful, smells incredible, great store, African music, amazing lobby, and giraffes off my balcony. mickey

My DH would stay home with arms crossed if we were to be at All Star Sports. Too many soccer teams stay there and it's just too loud. we are both teachers and tall. My husband refers to them as knee dusters....oddly he didn't feel that way about our own two or our nephews/nieces but when on vaca....peace. waiting

Well our first was CBR..I'd give it 7/10.... Then POFQ...8/10.... Then 3 times in a row at PORS...9/10...So for our 6th visit I'am hoping that WL is a 10/10... crossfingers

I've stayed at Old Key West and Pop Century; hubby has stayed at both of those resorts as well as at Saratoga Springs. So far no duds among them.

Well, I can only really speak to the resorts I've stayed at, which are:

All Star Sports
All Star Movies
All Star Music
Port Orleans Riverside
Port Orleans French Quarter
The Boardwalk
Caribbean Beach
Dixie Landing
Fort Wilderness Campground

The bottom of my list would be the All Star Resorts. The room feels small and it is always crowded. Of course, I would stay there any day before staying offsite. If staying there means I can go to WDW, then I'll stay there.

My favorite is The Boardwalk. We love the theming and the close proximity to EPCOT and DHS.

I also LOVE the campground. If you've never visited the campground, I highly recommend it. It is very "wilderness" like and lovely trees. I just love the overall ambiance. My best family vacation memories are from taking our RV to Fort Wilderness and camping for two weeks in the summer.

I have no desire to stay at the Contemporary. I don't like that resort at all. It feels so cold and empty. Saratoga Springs also does nothing for me.

I look forward to trying:

Poly
GF
WL
AKL
Yacht Club

Of those that I've stayed in I'd say All Star Music. Granted, the last time I stayed there was in 1996 (high school chorus trip to sing in the Epcot Christmas program) but it seemed kind of dumpy to me at the time and I was used to some pretty bad hotels back then! I was also not in love with Port Orleans Riverside in 2011 but that was pre-refurbishment. French Quarter this past February was great so I can only assume POR is better now. awesome

There really is not a resort that I would not stay in, but if I had to choose it would be the all star resorts just because of the size of the rooms and it tends to have more teens and little kids and is a bit louder than most

Based on experience, I'd put the All-Star resorts as my least favorite. I've only stayed at All-Star sports and there isn't really much that stands out, decor wise. The food was average. Nothing really stood out from there. The values are glorified motels so to speak and having to share a bus to Downtown Disney on a crowded night, not fun. Pop Century was much more enjoyable. Food was better and had their own bus for everything.

As for prospective resorts, in addition to ruling out the rest of the AS resorts, nothing about the mods appeal to me. They are very spread out, food from what I've heard is average at best and the internal bus stops worry me. If I were to rule out completely one moderate resort, Caribbean Beach would be my choice. I don't know. I feel the tropical beach resort look you can get almost anywhere. For deluxes, I know some really want to stay at the Grand Floridian but for me, it seems too fancy and too elegant for a Disney trip. It's a lot of money, too so I don't think I would be willing to spend all that money staying there. And possibly the Yacht and Beach Club because they practically look the same!

Okay - I know that I'm spoiled, but I'm going to be fairly unhappy at any of the Value resorts. Now - I firmly believe that any Disney trip is better than no Disney trip, but I know myself and a luxurious hotel experience is part of what makes Disney magical to me.
