Are there multiple pin events per year?

Is that guy in the photo real?

No, that isn't a common occurrence. Usually there is only one pin event per year, and that's the yearly Pin Celebration at Epcot. However, last year, they had an extra pin event at DAK for this Expedition Pin event.

Yes, that's a real person and not an animatronic. We met up with him during the rest of the event at DAK. He is the voice you hear at the very beginning of this video that I edited:

I leave Tuesday morning. Still, I'm already half-packed. I will need to sort out the pins that I will be bringing some time tomorrow. This is not going to be easy to try to select pins to fit into 2 pin trading books. That's all the two of us will bring. We want to be able to stuff the books into our two backpacks and pick up and leave whenever we want to. We want to still be able to do the attractions and stuff and don't want to lug around large suitcases.

There will be a large contingent from the Chicago area going. Last count, it is around 20. So this should be a lot of fun.
