I wonder if they have a similar sign when you enter the continent of Africa? Smile

Wouldn't that be strange to live in a real "Disney World" where things were punctuated by big, explanatory signs and "pre-videos?" laugh

Anyway, here's my addition to the thread for this morning: Sit back and relax...

A bit of advice here, and you can take it or leave it.

While I snap a lot of pictures at DL and WDW, I try to not break any of their rules. In other words, when the instruction says no pictures, or no flash pictures, I obey those. This is especially true on dark rides, such as Pirates and Haunted Mansion, where by definition, they are supposed to be mainly in the dark. The flash not only is annoying, it also ruins the attraction to many guests, especially die-hard fans. You will not be impressed by Space Mountain, for example, when you ride it all lighted up. These dark rides are supposed to be viewed dark, and the brief flash can often reveal what is supposed to be hidden.

Anyway, that's my 2-cent advice, and one can do whatever one likes with it.

Thanks for the advice, Zapperz.

Is that a Sassagoula boat?

Hum... I'm not sure what that is! Smile

That's a boat that takes guests from Old Key West to Downtown Disney. I really love that ride because (i) it is very peaceful and serene, and (ii) it is often not crowded, especially if you ride it at night. In fact, riding it at night was quite spooky back then when the Treehouse Villas were still unoccupied, because that stretch was very, very dark!

I remember riding the boats when the Treehouse Villas were still all "condemned!" It was sort of creepy now that you mention it...

Great shot of the hat base here, Zapperz.

I'm heading back over to Magic Kingdom with today's photo:

Thanks for the 2 cents, Zapperz. I don't think I even thought about the fact that I might be disrupting other folks' ride enjoyment. DW and I were in a boat of our own and I selfishly figured nobody else would see the flash. Hmm...big dark ride with boats on either side of us...they probably saw it!

OK, back to some of my most favorite pictures.

This one actually did win the contest for the "Fantasyland" theme. I like this picture a lot because, unlike the fireworks shot, it has a sense of "quietness" to it. When I snapped this, I didn't realize that there was a kid looking over the water pool/fountain. But now that I see it, it added a certain quality to the picture.

A lot of my pictures are accidents like this. Smile

Zz.

Remember this picture from a while back? This is what it looks like during the day.

Not as impressive, is it? Smile
