The filmed "Public Enemies" that stared Johnny Depp on my old street in Chicago a couple of years ago. This is the street that I used to live on, and they transformed it, for a couple of weeks, to make it look like it was back in the period of the movie. It was very cool.

You don't have to make up these convoluted cover stories. We won't tell anyone that you're much older than you claim. Or is it that you have a time machine? Whichever, we won't tell. silly

And if you're "old" enough as I am, you'll find that tall structure familiar, especially if you've seen plenty of Steve McQueen's movie.

That is at the University of Chicago's Yerkes Observatory in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Thanks Zapperz. I really need a relaxing pic of a cat this morning. Is this one yours?

Nope. I have no pets other than a few tropical saltwater fish. Smile

I went to a motor show today that allowed me to practice one of my favourite topics...

ZapperZ, where are the pics of your fish?

Tony, Those are great shots. I really like the one with the people in costume. Do you go to auto shows often?

I go to about 4 or 5 shows a year plus a few motor races. The couple dressed to match their car looked great, but I couldn't work out if they'd done it especially or if they dressed like that all the time.

Amazing photos of those cars (and Zapperz, I love the "coordinated" photo posted immediately after)! That couple sipping tea looks so civilized. How long are the shows, usually, Tony?

They are usually a one day event. If I'm showing my cars with one of the clubs I'm in then I have to be there around 9.00am to help set up before the show opens.
We had the little sports car in last weekend's show.

Since we're on the subject:

Not bad for a twenty year-old factory paint job.

Old, low quality picture before some upgrades...but I like it.

Never posted a picture on here before so please bear with me if this does not come out. Seeing as all the nice cars are here I thought I would try posting one of my "Baby".

No wonder he loves Vettes. He has the best one!

Tony -- I can't make out the insignia on the sports car. What is it? (Sorry I'm not a car expert!)

It's an MG F, they were never exported to the USA, but given the success of the Mazda MX5 (Miata) they could probably have sold shed loads.
IIRC the last MG sold in the USA was the MG B which ceased production around 1980. As thats 30 years ago, I'll forgive anyone under the age of 40 who hasn't heard of them Smile

Vettelove, That's a very clean looking 'vette, afraid I'm as ignorant about them as dsoup is about my MG. What's the year/model/spec etc. and how long have you owned it?
