Transitions Optical Signs Agreement to Sponsor Signature Events at Walt Disney World Resort

Several signature events at the Walt Disney World Resort have a new sponsor.

Transitions Optical Inc. recently signed an agreement with the Walt Disney World Resort to become a sponsor of several events including the runDisney series, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and the Festival of the Masters in Downtown Disney.

The company will also be sponsoring the Atlanta Braves spring training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Orlando City Soccer Club Will Play 2014 Home Games at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

The Orlando City Soccer Club announced plans to play its 2014 home games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
This temporary move occurs as the Lions' home stadium, the Florida Citrus Bowl, is undergoing renovations.

Fans can purchase tickets for the 2014 season immediately, while season ticket holders for 2014 will receive first choice for seats for the 2015 season, which is expected to be the Lions' inaugural Major League Soccer season.

Unofficial Gay Day Merchandise Sold at Magic Kingdom During Annual Event

Despite its neutral stance on the annual Gay Days, Walt Disney World is selling merchandise that unofficially celebrates the event.

The items include designs incorporating rainbows, which is a symbol of the gay-pride movement. Products include red tank tops with a rainbow-colored Mickey Mouse head, a rainbow mug, a rainbow wallet, and Mickey Mouse Vinylmations in rainbow colors. These items were displayed with other rainbow items that are found year-round in the parks including pins and antenna toppers.

New Highlights For This Year's Food & Wine Fest

Though it's set to start this fall, it's never too early to start talking about Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival. For 2012, the festival is set to run 46 days (September 28 through November 12) and will have some new features as well as returning favorites.
