The opening of the new Frozen-themed attraction in Epcot's Norway pavilion won't happen until next year, but Disney has recently released new details about the attraction which will be housed in the former location of Maelstrom. The popular flume attraction closed last year after 25 years of taking guests back, back over the falls.
The new attraction, Frozen Ever After, will use the same path that was used by Maelstrom but the rest of the old attraction is gone. In its place is an all-new Frozen overlay including the North Mountain and Elsa's ice palace.
Guests in the queue for Frozen Ever After will walk past Wandering Oaken's Trading Post where they might catch a glimpse of the sauna-loving trader as he yells out "yoo-hoo!"
After riders board the attraction's logs they'll see Olaf and Sven and glide past Troll Valley where Grandpappy Troll tells the story of how Anna and Kristoff met. Other scenes include Olaf singing and ice skating and Anna and Kristoff singing with Sven.
The big scene in the ride happens when a set of doors open and guests see Elsa singing "Let It Go" at her ice palace. Guests will also get a glimpse of Marshmallow, the not-so-evil snowman and the miniature snowmen from the animated short Frozen Fever.
The ride concludes with a final scene including fireworks and appearances by Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Sven, and Kristoff.
Frozen Ever After will feature "cutting edge" audio-animatronic characters with projectors behind the faces for lifelike animation.
The rest of the Norway pavilion is also being expanded with more architectural features and the all new Royal Sommerhus, where guests can meet Anna and Elsa.
