First Time in Spanish for 'The Lion King'

It's been translated into several languages since its debut in 1997, but never Spanish. For the wildly popular and successful show "The Lion King," that will change this coming October as the show is set to open in Madrid, Spain.

Not only will this production of "The Lion King" be the first to be done in Spanish, it will also be the largest stage musical ever to hit Spain. The Madrid production, which opens October 21, will be one of seven currently playing to audiences around the globe.

With eighteen productions worldwide staged since its premiere, "The Lion King" has been viewed by more than 54 million people and raked in over $4 billion.
