Five Princess Dolls to Be Released for Sale on October 17
Apparently Disney Princess Designer Dolls are a hot commodity, and getting a hand on one of the first two issued has proved to be a bit challenging for some. The frustrations and issues surrounding shoppers' attempts to purchase the dolls has prompted Disney to release all remaining five dolls in Disney Stores on October 17 as well as issue a new release policy.
The first two dolls issued last week, the Mulan and Snow White dolls, sold out fairly quickly online (the Snow White doll was out of stock in under an hour) after their sale started in the wee hours of the morning. Because of the number of shoppers looking to nab a doll, some experienced false sales: the computer telling them they had the sale when in fact there was no stock left to fulfill said sale. The shoppers were all notified by email, but not until the next day after the dolls were released in stores.
Some stipulate that those aiming to profit from the sale of the Disney Princess Designer Dolls on auction sites such as eBay caused the stock to dwindle rapidly.
In response to the sale fiasco, the Disney store will no longer adhere to the old one doll per week release schedule. Instead, all of the remaining dolls - Jasmine, Aurora/Sleeping Beauty, Tiana, Rapunzel and Pocahontas - will go on sale inside Disney Stores October 17. There will be one-doll-per-customer limit in place as well as a queue, and stores will distribute tickets to assure those in line can purchase a doll.
Internet sales of the dolls will occur on October 18 with the same limit in place.
