Christmas-time comes with such wonderful things, chocolate treats being just one of the many. Next week at The Landing in Disney Springs (on December 15th to be precise) a brand new specialty sweet shop will open its doors. Called "The Ganachery," this new high-end experience delving into the world of chocolate will be something to remember.
Guests will first be welcomed by an in-house chocolatier who will encourage visitors to try the different chocolates. At center stage are the sixteen different ganaches that will be created in-house - a luxurious, and proprietary mixture of melted chocolate and cream. Guests will be able to enjoy watching a chocolate expert mix and decorate each piece of the luxury sweets. The Ganachery will offer both milk and dark chocolate delights, the signature dark products in particular will feature a 65 percent dark chocolate with just a hint of vanilla.
The Ganachery has taken inspiration for some of its flavors from Disney Characters and Destinations around the world with nine custom-made (off-site) chocolate bars that pay homage to the spirit of "Aulani (white chocolate with pineapple and coconut), Disneyland Paris (dark chocolate with liquid caramel and fleur de sel), and Disneyland Resort (milk chocolate with raisins and almonds)." However Disney has made it clear that the mission of this new shop isn't novelty sweets, it's about rich, decedent chocolate blended with the worlds finest spices and flavors.
According to our friends over at the Disney Food Blog:
Disney Pastry Chef Stefan Riemer shared a few of the various flavors guests might find: dark chocolate with a touch of shaved Egyptian salt, milk chocolate with a dash of dark chocolate and hint of Sri Lankan cinnamon, and the signature dark chocolate with a hint of Florida orange. Flavors will fall into one of four categories: Spices (like chipotle), Classic(such as vanilla and caramel), Trendy (matcha yuzu chocolate) and Fruit (passion fruit and calamansi among them). "Textures, tastes, colors - this is about relaxing and enjoying a bite-size indulgence," says Chef Stefan.
Guests can indulge in the guilty pleasure of chocolate at The Ganachery begining December 15th, 2015 by having a nosh on site, or by selecting take-home gifts in custom packages.
