The Gingerbread Academy At Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas

My family has spent a lot of time at Walt Disney World and we know that the holidays are an especially wonderful time to travel. One of our favorite activities outside of the Parks this time of year is to go hotel hopping to see the amazing gingerbread displays. No treat is quite as quintessentially Christmas a gingerbread, and as with everything Disney - they do it with style.

Today we're going to take a peek at the Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas Gingerbread display. It's not the biggest (that's at the Grand Floridian), nor does it have the most Disney theme (you'll find that at the Contemporary), but the BoardWalk display always has a special heart to it. This year the amazing team of Pastry Chefs at Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas have built amazing replicas of their restaurants entirely out of gingerbread!

Guests will be able to stroll past miniature versions of ESPN Zone, Flying Fish, Trattoria al forno, and the Boardwalk Bakery. I'm partial to the Boardwalk Bakery gingerbread myself, because in the front window you can see Chef Mickey inside baking up a storm.

If you are a long-time gingerbread fan, you may know that if can be a little tricky to recreate these magnificent displays back at home. Gingerbread construction is a special art, and Disney has you just in mind when they decided to open a Gingerbread Academy at the BoardWalk. Guests who register for the class can sip hot coco and work with a Pastry Chef from the Disney team to create their very own Gingerbread House to take home.

The cost of this lesson in the finer points of these holiday favorites is $125 for up to four guests to participate. Reservations for the Gingerbread Academy are limited so for questions or reservations, call the Boardwalk Private Dining team at (407) 939-5175 today.

Thanks so much to our friends over at the Disney Food Blog for exclusive use of their images! Do you make a gingerbread house each holiday? Tell me about your favorite display in the comments below.
