2017 NFL Pro Bowl Events To Be Held at ESPN Wide World of Sports

Hold onto your seat football fans, last week the NFL and ESPN announced that the annual Pro Bowl (aka the NFL's "All-Star" game) will be coming to Orlando in 2017. While the game itself will be played at Camping World Stadium near downtown Orlando several events leading up to it will be taking place at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The NBA Experience Project Planned for Disney Springs

The Walt Disney Company has struck a deal with the NBA that reaches past the ABC and ESPN broadcast coverage straight into the Walt Disney World Resort. Wednesday the two announced in a press release that Disney Springs would be home to a new entertainment venture called "The NBA Experience."

Mascots from College Football Playoff Teams Star in New Television Spots

The mascots from the four college football teams playing in the College Football Playoffs are starring in a new string of television spots airing now. The ads can be seen on ABC, ESPN, and Disney Parks social media channels.

ESPN Hosting Fantasy Football Convention at Walt Disney World Resort

This year's football season kicks off with the inaugural ESPN Fantasy Football Convention at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The convention takes place this weekend, August 22 and 23 at the Walt Disney World Resort and will features a live telecast of ESPN's Fantasy Football Now.

College football fans can buy tickets now for the 10th annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge Presented by Disney.

The Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) football game featuring the North Carolina A&T Aggies of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Alabama A&M Bulldogs of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) will be played at the University of Central Florida (UCF) on Sunday, August 31.

The game is the first meeting between the two universities.

New World of Sports Food Truck

Those of you heading out to ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World might want to keep your eyes peeled for a new food truck - the Tailgate Grill.

Guests lining up to sample the Tailgate Grill's wares will be able to hear the ESPN SportsCenter theme song. The new fast eating option also has bean-bag tosses near it; there could be plans in the works to add basketball hoops and TV nears the truck in the future.

Disney, Comcast Strike Deal For On Demand Services

Disney and cable provider Comcast have recently reached an agreement that will allow Comcast customers access to all of Disney's channels through on demand services.

The deal, announced earlier this week, will let some 22 million Comcast subscribers view such channels as the Disney Channel, ABC, and ESPN via on-demand at home or on portable electronic devices through Comcast's Xfinity services.

Disney Cancels ESPN: The Weekend

Disney recently announced the cancellation of the annual ESPN: The Weekend event.

The yearly event began in 2004 to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of ESPN. Since then, Disney's partnership with ESPN has grown to include opportunities for many athletes through the Wide World of Sports Complex.

Though the event is cancelled, ESPN and Disney will continue to partner together and move forward. Events such the ESPN RISE Games and ESPN RISE Girls Showcase will be a focus. The duo will also continue to encourage and provide ways for fans to become involved in sports' events.

Grand Opening For Disney's HP Field House

One big thing to come out of the partnership between Disney and HP was unveiled this past Thursday: the "newly re-imagined" HP Field House. In true Disney form, a sports star studded grand opening ceremony was held to reveal the facility and its state of the art sports technology.

On hand at the ceremony were Mia Hamm, of soccer fame, and the NFL's Jason Witten. They joined ESPN radio personalities Mike Greenburg and Mike Golic as well as Mickey, Goofy and execs from both Disney and HP.
