Several Disney parks around the world were recognized for attractions and guest entertainment options.
The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) recently announced the annual Thea Award winners and it's a small world at Disneyland was the recipient of the Thea Classic award. This award honors theme park attractions that have endured for 20 year or more.
TEA said the attraction "continues to captivate audiences around the world with pure charm, melded with a profound message deceptively hiding in a simple and astonishingly catchy song."
Bistrot Chez Remy at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris was the recipient of the Award for Outstanding Achievement: Theme Restaurant.
TEA said of the new restaurant, "It is a truly charming and thematically thorough dining experience, where oversized objects are reused in every possible way to create tables, chairs, architectural elements, and props."
The Wilderness Explorers experience at Disney's Animal Kingdom was given the Award for Outstanding Achievement: Interactive Park Attraction on a Limited Budget. The experience gives guests a chance to learn about nature while collecting badges to become a Wilderness Explorer.
The Thea Awards will be handed out at an official awards ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel on March 21, 2015.
Another association, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) recently named 'Once Upon a Time' at Tokyo Disney Resort the Best Multimedia Spectacular in the association's Brass Ring Awards for Live Entertainment Excellence.
