We have used it quite a few times and it is great.it is located just on the side of cirque du soliel and the taxi should be able to drop you right nearby.i do believe that you have to take all baggage like checking In normally. You get your tickets etc so when you get to the airport you can head straight to the security queue.

Thanks Mr F! Knew someone would know!!! Was kind of hoping that you didn't have to take all hand baggage as we will have 2 large cases and 2 holdalls to check in then a small case and a handbag each for carry on! Does anybody know if Disney transport would let us on with our little cases or is it a definate no no???

I really don't know why you would bother with the DTD virgin checkin, The hotel will hold your stuff for you for free till you need to leave the resort and head to the airport x

we usually do this but due to how much luggage we have its just quite a big hassle getting it loaded onto the ME, getting it off ME then maneuvering those trolleys around to get up to the check in desk - we had loads of hassle last year and by the time we made it to the check in desk i was really stressed out plus we are planning on heading to DTD that final morning anyway?

think we need to weigh up pros and cons!

I can understand this issue for people using the DME but if you have a hire car then you rock up check in then lock your hand luggage in the boot (trunk).
When you get to MCO all you have to do is then go straight through to airside.no queuing for check in and security.it gave us an extra few hours at EPCOT on our last day

Robyn if I'm honest carrying the hand luggage is the only thing making me hesitant about the whole thing but getting rid of 4 big cases is a massive pro!!!!!

I am flying Virgin in two weeks time. I reserved my seats at exactly 60 days out. I think it was early in the morning. It did not cost me anything. We are however going premium economy.

(Just a little tip. If you have an Amex card you can change your points to Virgin miles. We have done companion flights on 2 occasions - I paid full price and my husband went free! Cheaper than two economy tickets. Twice we went miles and money which gave a substantial discount. This time and our wedding trip in 2011 - no discounts because it is July. The discounts are seasonal and subject to availability).

Just a little update we booked our seats this morning exactly 60 days out however the seat map becomes available at midnight so you can stake out your seats before they become live at exactly 8am

also anyone who travels to Orlando from Manchester (not sure if its the same on the planes from Gatwick) there are some seats for economy passengers on the upper floor of the plane if you would like to try for them!!!

I think I have passed excited now with seat allocation and FP in the same day!!!!!

Mind watchmaker don't do what I did and get unbelievably excited thinking I can book my seats at midnight for it to basically say "hold your horses not yet!" they really don't come live until 8am I was up at 7.20 and it was still not letting me - mam logged on at exactly 8am and as if by magic it was there!!!

also just a few other things you have to wait 60 days out for your return journey aswell so you cant book both at the same time

and have you got the Virgin Atlantic app on your eye-pad?! if not you must download it immediately its AMAZING!!!!!!

Virgin really mess up with there pre booking system.

The original plan was on the 20th June everyone could pre book there seats regardless of the date of travel. Those who booked before a date in december last year were free, those after this date had to pay PS25 per person per way.

Originally it was something like 90 days out.

So we logged in at 90 days to find we couldn't pre book our seats, and this is when we were told it was the 20th June.

Logged in on the 20th and we were told no it's actually 60days out now as they've had system issues.

Fortunately, we have managed to book our seats 60 days out. Now ours were free but I did query the price and they said that seats are not guaranteed. I would hate to spent PS50 each pre booking our seats to find that I didn't get the seats I requested.

Just a big mess at Virgin at the moment.

We used DTD check in for the first time in June. It was great. We took everyhting with us and then went back to the hotel to leave our hand luggage. Yes it was a bit of a flaf but ultimately we didn't have to wait in a long queue and went straight through security and then just chilled at the airport. Will be doing it in September again

Thanks I think we will probably try it - did you use Disney buses to get back to your resort or did you have a car??

with the amount of bags we have I think it will be worth it even if we have to take taxis both ways and more time to relax at the airport!

Good question..sorry I don't have the answer,but will be curious to find out..This is the first time we've booked separate..Resort with WDW holidays..Flights with Virgin..Worked out a helluva lot cheaper,but in fairness we got a 40% discount off deluxe resort with WDW and a huge saving in January sales with Virgin Atlantic...

Think so Its worth a go either log in to your booking on virgin holidays or try managing your booking on virgin Atlantic - it's worht a try I don't see why you wouldn't be able to?

We travelled with British airways last year and out spirits were miniatures but I'm not sure how many times they come around with the booze but I do believe you can go to the galleys and get extra providing you are sober enough to walk there and ask!!!

There is no way I'am landing under the influence ( my DW will see to that ) But we normally splash out on a bottle of champers when we fly to Disney,but with Virgin all drinks are free ( excluding the bubbly ) For a 9 hour flight..3 brandies is fine..Medicinal of course...
