Candlelight processional

I've never really paid much attention to it as we have never been at this time of year before, we are planning to get the dining package so I don't have to stress about finding somewhere to sit, also I'm thinking we might book 2 separate days and then choose the guest speaker we like the most and cancel one of them once they release the info.

Can anyone give me any tips about it? My understanding is its a Christmas story but other than that I'm not sure.

They normally release most of the narrators (with some TBAs) before they open the bookings don't they? We're planning on doing the dinner package for our trip too and when I looked at the last couple of years they normally release the info and open bookings in July.

My tip would definitely be to get the dining package, especially if you want to see NPH. But you're already planning on that awesome We were lucky enough to have NPH as our narrator a few years ago, but we didn't get the dining package. Since we would've had to wait in line 3+ hours for a seat, we decided to just stand in the back and not even try to get a seat. It was fine by us. Not a good view but we could hear everything and see enough. I couldn't stand that long now so if we ever do it again, we will get the dining package for sure.

I hadn't done much research on the CP before we did it so I was surprised how religious it is. I spent 12 years in Catholic school so it didn't bother me, but it is the Christian telling if the Christmas story.

Annielovesdisney thanks so much for the info! I'm not hugely religious but I did go to Christian school and we married in a church so it's not like I'm against it, im sure we will enjoy Laughing out loud

Yeah enjoy the open displays of Christianity while they last. Who knows how long it will last. After all someone may get offended.

It is the story of Jesus' birth - so it's religious with some sentences taken directly from scripture. Nonetheless, it is still a great show. I sung in the show for three years. It was awesome! For the show I participated in, the speakers were Edward James Almos (the dad in Selena), James Avery (Uncle Phil - Fresh Prince), and Antonio Banderas! James Avery was the best!

I would love to see Neil Patrick Harris!

I agree with Annie 100%--definitely get a dining package if you want to go. People were lined up for standby at 2:00 for the 5:45 show with no guarantee that they would even get a seat.

Of all of the Christmas festivities that Disney offers, this was honestly my least favorite. I think it had something to do with our narrator. We had Gary Sinise, who I was very excited about seeing, but I felt like his delivery was very flat. That coupled with the fact that there was more narration and less music than I expected left me a little bit underwhelmed. It was still neat to see, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to see it again.

NPH could narrate how paint was drying on my walls and I'd sign up to go. He's one of my favorite-est celebs. I absolutely love him in everything (except Gone Girl).

Unless they got someone as equally awesome (Patrick Stewart maybe), this has been removed from my "things I should do at WDW" list. Just not my bag.

I had James Dennison (desperate housewives). Not so great. I was a little disappointed by CP after all I had heard about it, but would do it again. I've never seen people line up so early for a show. Get the dining package and still get there early.

How early would you recommend getting there with the dining package? 1/2 hr? 1 hr?

At least an hour before seating starts (not show time) if you want a good seat. Also you have too make sure your dining time and show time are not too close together also or you will be scrambling.

Thanks for the tips! How early before the show starts does seating normally open?

I'd argue the early arrival time. We did the dining package and arrived 20 minutes before the show started. We didn't have front row, center seats, but there were still plenty of reserved seats available.

Thanks, Scott! I'm thinking with my daughters nap time that we'll have to do one of the later dinner seatings available for for the second show and I was really worried about not making it there early enough to get good seats. Now I won't panic so much if that is the way it has to work. As long as we have a decent view I'm fine awesome
