ICE! at the Gaylord Palms

There are few reasons that I ever consider leaving Disney property, but for the past couple of year this annual event at the Gaylord Palms Hotel has sparked my imagination. They turn this extraordinary hotel into 20,000 square-feet of frosty 9-degree bliss played out in a winter wonderland of exciting hand-carved sculptures. And this year it's featuring two-story tall ice slides carved entirely from TWO MILLION pounds of ice.

It's one of those things that I think I would really enjoy seeing. Have you been?

We have never been there and will never go according to the dh. We were born and raised with the nasty white cold stuff (you know I hate the cold) and he sees no reason to pay a lot of money to be cold for a few minutes and see snow and ice. I feel the same way, maybe not as strongly though. It's cool for the FL kiddos, there's lots who have never seen snow. One asked what happens when it gets on the roof and the roads. They have no concept. I know lots of people who go and have heard wonderful things and seen awesome pics. Actually 2 kids from my class went last weekend and came in talking about it Monday. No desire here, we prefer the sunshine and warmth.

Julie once you thaw out you never want to be refrozen again!!!! Living here in Western PA I don't like the cold and the older I get the less endearing it becomes.

yep, we're from Erie, PA as far North as you can get, across the lake from Canada. Miserable in the winter.
