Wow, that's a ways out! Your at what 117 days out.
All I know is... We have loved them. First week went perfect with the bands. The app had some glitches which is to be expected... But never affected our experience with them. Onto our second set tomorrow!

Having no issues with the bands. Getting on the magical express was a breeze.
They have extended the testing of the bands. Must not be happy with something about them.
My mom had a couple issues with her band but it was more user errors than equipment issues. LOL

I read that. My roommate had trouble with his last month but overall thought it was cool.

Ours worked great the whole time we were there in Oct. We never tried charging anything back to our room though so we don't know how well that worked. Heck we had more problems in July with our key to the world cards then we did with the bands.

That was the part that he had trouble with. When he checked in they didn't connect the credit card to the band or have him set up a pin for it. He tried to use it in the park and they told him he needed to go to guest services to set up a new pin, guest services told him that he had to go back to the hotel! That was too much trouble with only one park day on his trip, so he just used the credit card directly. There was something else that he had trouble with re: the band but I can't remember off the top of my head. I think it had to do with the FastPass+.
We got our AP Mickey Monitor in the mail today. It had a page dedicated to the annual pass holders getting our magic bands. It didn't have a definite date, it said in the coming months, but if it's in the Monitor it's pretty close to happening. AP won't get our bands until the testing is complete so that must mean testing will be over soon.
I have no idea when AP Magic Band dates are, but I'm guessing later in the year. I'm going in early January and I'm evidently a "tester" still. I'm guessing no Magic Bands for APs until they get all the bugs out of the system
I'm in the Virtual Honor Choir at Disney's California Adventure! One of 700 singers selected from 1500 submissions and one of 200 sopranos from 550 submissions! Click on the link to see it! http://youtu.be/04a199tjhKk

We have Annual Passes and we have had the bands so it has nothing to do with being an AP holder really. It's just that you haven't stayed on property. Our annual passes are connected to all of our bands. They pushed back the testing phase so they have no idea now when people not staying on property will be able to get Magicbands.
Sounds like they are letting people sign up and customize their Magic Bands earlier and earlier. I had the notice to do mine last week and my trip is Mar 11 through 26 so they must be happy with the beta testing except for a few minor glitches which I am sure they will correct quickly.

Actually for us it has everything to do with being Annual pass holders. We don't, and probably won't, ever stay on property at a Disney resort. So the only reason we will get magic bands is because we are annual pass holders. I was referring to Annual Pass holders that will soon get their magic bands, simply because they are annual pass holders, not for staying at a Disney resort. The monitor stated "in the coming months" which means sometime in 2014. That's a good enough projected date as far as I'm concerned
The bands are live. Now they are testing out band readers for EMH at attractions since everyone will have bands in the near future and that's how they'll know if your staying at a resort. But those seem to be working at Studios.
Thanks for always giving us that "inside" information Mandy!
You're welcome. I know they just started the readers at Epcot last week. Not sure about the other parks.
Just saw this over on TouringPlans.com

I forgot about the flash drive. I think it's really cool.
When we went to MK yesterday, my mom's band was showing no more days on it. She had an 8 day park hopper and yesterday was day 8. The CM told us they had been having that issue. Another CM scanned my mom's band and she was able to get in.
I got an email the other day that my PhotoPass pictures were about to expire. At first I was confused by the email then I remembered a couple of the PhotoPass photographers scanned my magic band before taking my picture with some of the characters. I logged on to look at the pictures and was surprised to find two ride pictures (Space Mountain and Dinosaur). I'm guessing my band was scanned on the rides as the pictures were taken???
Disney is currently testing out attraction pictures being loaded on to the magicbands automatically. I've been a test participant with Space Mountain and Splash Mountian. Space worked fine and all of my pictures were on the magicband. Only one of my Splash pictures showed up.
Just got back from a 2 day stay at WL . First time using Magic Bands , and everything was great. They worked perfect for everything. Our AP's were linked to the bands , so we used the bands for everything. If you want to charge meals at restaurants to your room , they just scan your band. They worked at all registers for every purchase we made , no problem w/ Fastpasses , all Fastpass + times I set up before trip were there and worked fine.
Overall I'd have to give them a 10 out of 10 on this trip
Just got more for our Jan trip!
Sadly, we have to wait until we check into the Boardwalk to get ours - but the bonus is we can still make changes to them and we're down to 24 days.
Jan, you may not be able to make changes to them still. They send them out at the 30 day mark, and that has passed. They may have sent yours to the resort already, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Did they give you another deadline? I know it doesn't take long for them to ship, ours were shipped and at our door in less than 24 hours, but they make them in Kentucky, not in Florida so they will have to be shipped to the resort at some point.

That's what we figure mrhub, but the system still allows us to make changes and the message states "act quickly. Your order may ship at any moment". Didn't realize they come from Kentucky, so maybe they have already shipped to the resort. I'll keep you posted if the message updates from what it is now.
