You don't need tickets for the magic bands. You just need to by staying at a Disney resort for them.

We received ours and our Disney tickets, ADRs and DDP were already linked to them, but we also were able to link our MNSSHP tickets to them as well. It gives you the option to link your other stuff to them after you get them.
Ok so we should automatically get one that should have our reservations and everything on MyDisneyExperience and we can then put on our theme park tickets, since we dont get those through Disney?
Jackie
Any reservations and tickets that are on the my Disney experience website, should be linked to the magic band if you already have in place. The tickets you get from AAA, you will have to link on the website once you get the tickets.
I found this quoted on TouringPlan.com:
"How to I link my park tickets to my MagicBand?
If you have purchased a full package from WDW, your park tickets should already be loaded onto your MagicBand. If you have a room-only reservation, you can manually add your park tickets to your MagicBand via the MyDisneyExperience website. This works both for tickets purchased through Disney (online, at a Disney store, leftover no-expire tickets, etc.) and for tickets purchased through third party vendors such as Undercover Tourist or Maple Leaf Tickets. On the MDX site, go to "My Reservations," scroll down until you see "Link Tickets," and follow the steps from there.
Again, if you only have park tickets but no WDW room reservation, there is currently no way to get a MagicBand. This will likely change in the future, but we have no word on when that might happen."
Awesome! Thanks Mandy! I can't wait! I think I get it! And you can adjust the bands? I have kiddos with skinny wrists, my youngest is three.
Another question: does everyone staying in your room have to get the bands (like the DDP) or can some get the bands and some get just the key card? My dad and his wife are staying with us and not sure if they would prefer cards instead of bands, if they have the option.
Sorry for all the qustons.
Jackie
I can answer the magicband question, but Mandy will have to answer the DDP one! Ha ha.
If you look at the very first picture in this thread of the yellow band, you will see the yellow and the other part is grey. You can take it apart, where it's only the yellow and smaller for littles.
Thank you VelcroPooh! I just went back and looked again. So the yellow parts pops out.
Jackie
Yea you can take off part of the magic band for smaller guests. There should be instructions in the box that come with the magicbands. I have been told that you don't have to get the magicbands and right now, they are still handing out Key To The World Cards as back in case the bands don't work for some reason. You would have to talk directly with Disney about it. But cards still should be option. For the DDP, at the restaurant, you should only need one card or band to pay for the meal (as long as everyone is on the same reservation).
We aren't going until February, and actually haven't gotten our theme park tickets yet.....we usually get them from AAA. How does that work with the Magic bands? Once we get them do we then link the tickets to the app and get the option to do Magic Bands? I am assuming they will be live at all resorts by then. I would like to be able to customize them and choose the color etc so I am just thinking ahead. Or will I have to call once we get our tickets?Jackie
Jackie are you staying on property? If yes, I think all you will have to do is link the tickets to your MyDisneyExperience. I wouldn't wait to long once you get them. They usually want to send them out by the 30 day mark.

Jackie I think they will always have the option to get the card rather then the bands. Some people just don't like things on their wrists, or maybe can't wear them for some reason, so I think they will always have the cards if you want them.
Thanks Mark! I am hoping we can get the tickets soon before the holidays and money is even more scarce! but we aren't going until February so have some time, I am just obsessing.....making sure I understand etc. I will have to try and explain the bracelets simply and ask my Dad if they want the bracelets. Wish me luck!

I havent logged into my Disney account for a week so I did yesterday and BINGO! Magic Band notice! It said I still had 25days to do them. It also let me set up the Fast Passes....
I ordered our magic bands for our trip in November. We are doing a multi-hotel stay this time. They are sending each of us one magic band for each hotel we stay at. Because of this we decided to try out all the colors they offer. Can't wait to experience this new tech!
How soon are people getting the bands before their trips?
Hello Pamela, they are sending out the bands around 30 days prior to your trip.
Hi Pamela and
We got our magic bands in the mail. Super excited about using em'

Ah man, I'm jealous....we are headed to wdw in December as well and haven't received any notification about receiving magic bands (and I literally check every day)
I wonder if there is a reason my reservation would be different than anyone elses...hmmm?...we booked through an agent at Small World Vacations...maybe I should inquire with our agent

Just keep checking. You may just not be eligible yet. I didn't get the option to personalize my bands until about 40 days before each trip. What resorts are you staying at?? Not all resorts have officially gone "live" yet, so depending on where you are staying, it may be closer to the first of Nov before you get the option. I believe all resorts will be live by the end of Oct/beginning of Nov.
We just got our 2nd set of Magic Bands today!! Went with pink for the November trip. Ended up loving the magic band. Makes everything (but Fast Pass) much faster. Also very nice to never have to dig out a room key from my purse. Now that I'm back home, I went to the grocery store today and tried to unlock my front door with my hands full of groceries....seriously thinking I need a Magic Band on my front door!!

Yeah you have to link your ticket
My magic bands are being customized. How long does it usually take before they are shipped?
they will ship them 30 days prior to your arrival usually. what does it say in your MyDisneyExperience. It will say you have --- many days to customize your bands. On that last day, they will ship them out.
Yesterday was the last day. Today it says "Your MagicBands are being customized and will ship soon."
I received the email at 5:18 this morning. They are scheduled to be delivered by 10:30 this morning.
