LOL!

I'm just jealous cause we get the crappy old card for our trip next week. silly

The magic bands sound really great.

You still get to use the touch points to enter the parks!

We finally got the Fastpass+ option so we will do them tonight and see if the bands come up next.

The app, when I go into FAQ, it has a button that says "start using Magic Bands now", but I click on it and it just takes me to the page that shows all the active cards I have. Hmmm

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but I cannot even do Fastpass+ and I thought you could do that even if you weren't getting the magic bands. Am doing a dwarf impression at the moment with it all! waiting

Glad you and Scrappy have got yours laugh

Ours just popped up yesterday that I could do the fastpass+ and once I chose them, then the option for the bands appeared. What resort are you staing at?

I don't think Kidani is part of the test at this point, just Jambo and then they are rolling out to POR and apparently POP. All my info comes from rumors on various Disney blogs, so take it with a grain of salt (slice of lime and shot of tequila, also recommended!).

We are stay at Pop and I was able to customize ours. There is a ticket on it as well showing 31 days left so there must be a minimum time frame to customize them or have them shipped. Sure wish purple was an option. Does anyone else consider their wardrobe when picking the color. I was thinking of orange but I'm affraid it would clash with my orange watch. So went with yellow. I do like that all the colors are so bright.

The funny thing is that we were originally booked at POR and then upgraded to the BWI - if we had of stayed with POR we would have gotten them! Oh well....

They are slowly opening up more resorts. Next month they are opening up 10 more resorts for the magicband "testing" and "testing" is being continued through Oct 31. Fastpass+ is only available to magicband holders at this point since they still have the old fastpass distribution machines. After Sept 1, all tickets will be able to use the touchpoints to enter the parks since the old turnstiles will be gone.

BWI is already using them. They had them in July when we were there. I saw them giving them to some guests.

I just got the magic band option today for our 1 day Epcot trip in October. I put our order in, but when I went to try to do the Fast Pass + it told me I was outside of my Fast Pass + window. Does anyone know what that window is?

But aaaarrrrr, the curse of the lefty! I'll see if it's awkward for me versus righty Joe.

Why would that be Jeff? They are pretty much universal I think.

You would think so, but this comment in the article made me say what I said:

It does matter a bit that you get your "tap" correctly positioned. I happen to be left handed. When I used the MagicBand, it may be my imagination but I felt like sometimes the electronic reader was in a position that would be better accessed by a right-hander. Every once in a while I had to turn my wrist at an odd angle. This was not particularly challenging, it just took me a while to get used to. My right-handed husband had no issues at all.

So for example, if the reader is placed on the right side of an attraction entrance as you walk by, and I got mine on my left wrist, it might be a little odd or awkward to have to reach over. Maybe not, but the comment made me think there might be situations. Not a big deal by any means. I cold always put it on my right wrist, but, well, I'm a lefty dang it! Haha.

Okay got you, I was only thinking about entering the parks, where they have the readers on both sides, so it wouldn't matter which wrist you had it on.

Most attractions have two readers. One on the left side and one on the right side. Actually when you tap it a second time at Rock 'n' Roller Coaster where the merge is, the left one is used more because the right tap is near the gate for wheelchairs.

Well today I checked the other icon I have for My Disney experience and randomly checked Magic bands. There it was an invite to customize my MB! The strange thing I was one day away from not being able to customize the colour! I have had no emails from Disney telling me to do this. This is the second time no communication! But I don't care I have MB the pixie dust was sprinkled on me today. Bounce. I believe in karma and today I helped convince a particularly unhelpful Neurologist that it would be a good idea to see someone earlier than February. clapping clapping not only do I have MB but I have done FP too. Happy is not the word I would us to describe how I'm feeling.

I learned today that you cannot currently link more than 1 ticket to your magic band. And if you link a special event ticket, like MNSSHP tickets, through My Disney Experience, you apparently can't then link your park tickets to your magic band. Which is a problem!

The very helpful CM I called today told me we have to have Guest Services de-activate the MNSSHP ticket when we check in, issue a new one, and then link our park tickets to your magic band so it all works correctly.

In the future, they say, you will be able to link all your tickets - park, special event, etc. - and it will all automagically work!

Disney tries to make it better. Sometimes you can't just please people no matter what you do.
