I so want to be one to get the email inviting me to try it. I've joined My Disney Experience, put all my reservations on there and annual passes etc and zip

I did too. I just noticed that I have an option to "link a magic band". While I'm quite certain everyone has that, a small part of me is hoping maybe I'll get a chance to test it out!!

Where in My Disney Experience did you see that "link a magic band" option? I'll have to look and see if I have it too.

Where in My Disney Experience did you see that "link a magic band" option? I'll have to look and see if I have it too.
When you are in the "My Plans" tab, it's on the right hand side under "where to start"

That's it the MDE site hates me. I found where I should be, it won't let me do anything with the my magic bands bit and to make it worse it won't let me do Fastpass + . 
I have been round and round in ever decreasing circles until the only thing left is my downturned smile like a reverse Cheshire cat. Grump.

If you don't have a magic band, you can't do anything with it. Also , you have to be chosen to use the Fastpass+ right now, it's not an option for the general public.
I can still get into the Fastpass + page for BOG because we did the Beta test, heck I can still book reservations anytime I want, but it's only good for a week out.

That's so cool RobynPrincess - I keep looking, but nothing. Are you an annual passholder? I'm trying to figure out how people are being chosen to participate in these new enhancements - is it just random or not? You will definitely have to fill us in when you do your TR.

I spoke to some sources and they said that they are doing another test in Sept but the bands will practically be live by then and they are opening up 10 more resorts like Port Orleans, GF, Poly, Wilderness Lodge and I can't remember the rest. Another thing with the bands. They are giving out key to the world cards with the bands just in case there is any issue with the bands as room keys.

Hi everyone i am new here so bare with me!
We are going to DW in 26 days. We are staying at Art of Animation in the Ariel room. So a few days ago i was on the Disney world website and noticed the area where it says Fast pass. I saw this before but never clicked on it. Well i clicked on it and was able to reserve some times and dates for fast passes. I thought hmmmm interesting.....then clicked on the magic bands and it would NOT let me do anything. So next day i called Disney and said what I was able to do and how does that whole fast pass thing online work will they add that on my Disney room key. They looked up where i was staying at and what dates and said hey guess what you are eligible for the magic bands!!!!!
The girl on the phone told me people are being picked by resort and by date. Some resorts are not included in this trial period. So it matters when and where you are staying. My friend is going the same time we are and she is staying at Saratoga they are NOT involved in the selection right now. The girl also said it does change here and there and more dates or resorts are added so it is just by the luck of the draw. Oh and she said that you have to get on there fast if you see it pop up when you click the magic band and it asks you to confirm address and quickly pick your band colors and names or you will get the ugly gray ones. LOL Hope this helps!!!!

Exciting! We got the option to order the Magic Bands and did so yesterday. I am still working out my skeptical bugs but at the same time am kinda excited.
I also completed all our FastPass+ selections yesterday. I think I am warming up to it.
When you pick your park for FastPass+, you can pick up to 3 attractions. The system then returns a set of Best Match times, plus 3 other time options. You select which you want and you are done! You can also go back and change them individually,if to decide a time does not work for your plans.
For one of my FP+ days, we got a bonus FP+, for a total of 4. Unfortunately for us, it's for the Little Mermaid, which isn't really on my list of things to do

I can make FastPass+ selections, but not able to do anything with magic bands.
Made 3 selections for all parks. For Magic Kingdom it gives an extra one. It picks it for you, but you can change it.
Why can't I customize magic bands?
