Thanks mrhub and kathys - that is exactly what I thought. MDE still shows our January bands as being active and we also get new ones for our September trip so I will be trying the existing ones to get on the ME!

Jan I have 4 active bands, & 2 more on the way for our trip in May and Nov. All are active, any can be used. You can deactivate any that you wish. I can wear a different band everyday if I want. If you lose one you can mark it lost and if you find it you can reactivate it, all from your MyDisneyExperience page. You shouldn't have to connect anything to your bands, new reservations should automatically link to your band, ours do.

Just added to my "final instructions"

Prior to cremation, put a Magic Band on me in case there's a Disney section where ever I am headed.

This might be a silly question, but what does everyone do with their MBs when they go to the pool?

You wear them, they are water proof.

Thanks MrHub! I guess I didn't realize you can actually submerge them.

This morning our magic bands arrived. I feel like I finally got invited to the "big dance!"

yay yeah stars yay stars yay yeah stars

Did everyone else get sliders with theirs? I haven't read anywhere that sliders come with the bands.
I can't wait to add my Nightmare before Christmas magic bandits and wear my band for our next visit!

yay

I just read today about the sliders. I have the option to get a magic band as an AP holder. I probably won't get it. I already have two and will get two more for my October split stay trip.

But I read on another site that you can buy accessories now including sleeves to change the color. Of course Disney will find a way to entice us to pay more. I am just going to put my own slider on and a Disney charm. It will be unique to me!

I just meant that Passholder slider. Yes you can get other ones and there are covers you can buy.
Here are some from the GF Gift store.

Yay, Annie! I've heard that those sliders fall off really easily (don't know how accurate that is, just what I've heard on a couple of podcasts) so we're planning on painting ours. DH came up with some really cute designs to make them look like Disney characters!

Everyone staying onsite gets a magic band and I believe they're rolling out for other groups as well. I know Annie just got hers and she has an AP but doesn't stay onsite.

We were asked if we wanted to use them or not and our trip is in Sept, so I believe there is an option if you choose.

Mark? Do you know anymore?

You still cant get a straight answer really. I've heard you will always have the option to use a card, then others say they are getting rid of cards all together. Even different CM's say different stuff. Someone will have to go to a Guest Services and ask. I still wouldn't put all my faith in whatever they say because Disney does not tell everyone everything or the same thing. Heck if you call by phone and ask someone, they might tell you there is no construction at the Poly right now.

rolling rolling rolling rolling rolling Clear as mud! All I know is mine is PINK and my FP date is July 18th and now that I booked our trip this time with our TA and had to ask our friends their full names, birthdates, and anniversary (I just wanted to know that one for a surprise 45th when we get there), I am happy just being happy! yeah yeah yeah

Now if I can find a slider for the bracelet that doesn't cost a fortune.......

can you buy accessories online? I can't find them at the Disney Store online and I don't really like buying from 2nd party sites...

Right now you have to be staying at a Disney Resort or an AP holder to get a magicband but it is coming soon to everyone else for an additional cost.

Yeah, I read I believe yesterday they became available for "Day Guests" and are $12.99 I believe. You cannot pay with anything like resort guests can, but they are now available to anyone visiting the parks. We stay on Disney property (Downtown Disney area) but not a Disney Resort so this works out for us. Though we are Fla. resident annual passholders which we got them anyway.

Still, Disney knowing there was money there I'm sure fueled them being available to all guests.

Mr Hub that is funny!

Have swum wearing mine it was fine.

The sliders don't fall off but the pop on clippy things can do. And the glow in the dark ones from last year are still glowing happily by the bed!

We will have 4 each by the time we have finished the year, 3 resort ones and the AP one! Although it is nice to have the colour choice to match up to accessories it would be better to only have the one as It is a bit of a waste of resources.
