Table Names

I'm getting married this October (Exactly 4 months from today as a matter of fact clapping ) We are doing a Mickey Mouse theme and I was thinking of naming the tables after different characters or rides at the parks. What do you guys think? If anyone has any other ideas i'd love to hear them Smile

Id go with character names. More people know Disney Characters than say Journey to Imagination.

Oh I love that idea!

I think I would do "lands" depending on the number of tables I need, you could do them from all the parks. I think Mase is right though about more people knowing the Character names.

Yep, characters. How very fun!!!! Everyone knows Disney characters. Wouldn't it be neat if everyone dressed up like a character? However, that could potentially overshadow the bride and groom. Sad

Characters sound fun- Maybe the characters photo with the number? That could be very cute!

As long as you get your gift.... does it truly matter? Might end up being better if you think about it! You wouldn't know the people your parents invited that you can't stand! laugh

Tables using Character Names is a wonderful idea. I like how Kristen suggested doing "lands" also. You can have Character Names based on the lands you would find them in...kind of laid out like the park.

I think if I were to do a Mickey themed wedding, I would use names of his movies as table names. You could then go really crazy and use the table names and work them into your centerpieces.

Ooh! I like that. I'd also somehow incorporate the trees from Silly Symphonies.

I thought about that too but i think i'll have to many tables. We'll probably have around 12.
I agree with more people knowing the characters too. Although most of the guests are aware of my obsession with Disney World so they might understand the rides too Smile

You could also incorporate the "lands" idea with the characters that people are familiar with. Like maybe tables being Agrabah, Atlantis, Halloweentown...1899 New York for the one Newsies fan in the group...

I got married 10/28 last year and my family threatened that too. We didn't ignore Halloween though. I had a trick or treat station and handed out vampire fangs and googly eyes. Plus we had taffy apple favors and iron pumpkin centerpieces.

I love candy buffets! These pictures are from a Disney Wedding event I went to in 2011, it was so bright and colorful, I really thought it set a cheerful mood and everyone was filling up their little boxes with as much as they could fit!

I love the idea of Disney couples! You could even put them in order of the year their original movie was released....Snow White and her Prince as Table 1, Cinderella and Prince Charming as Table 2, Lady and the Tramp as Table 3, etc.

I'm getting married next year and we're actually doing a formal masquerade ball!

As to table names I like the disney character or disney park names idea.

A friend of mine did Disneyland attractions for the table names. It was fun cause we took a trip to the park and I took photos of the couple in front of or on each of the rides and she used the images on each table. She created super cute images on the Disney site for each table. I thought that was a neat idea.

We used little tiny tiny jars and filled them up with sparkes (pixie dust) then hot glued tags with the names of guests and table numbers on them... And they were so adorable and SO fairy tale. Just a suggestion!

That sounds awesome awesome
We are going to tie our table names on old pop bottles. We are going to use character names instead of numbers though. We still have to decide on which characters to use though wink
