Dave and I went down for a TEN day blowout at Disney back in 2005. We left on May 31st and we stayed at POP for ten nights. It was the BEST trip ever because we were soo relaxed. We weren't on the DDP but we had annual passes so we had the Tables in Wonderland..although it wasn't called that..anyway..
June 1st was our first full day in the parks and also our 2 year dating anniversary. We started off in MGM and Dave had been acting really weird ALL day. He kept freaking out every time I got on the right side of him..in a line..on a ride..he'd always switch sides really quick. Once I brushed up against him and he yelled at me to stop touching him. eek He was freaking me out.
We had an ADR at Rose and Crown that night (our favorite) and he finally seemed to settle down. During the dinner he went to the bathroom about ten times. I thought it was a little weird but he did have one of those huge lanyards of beer..anyway Illuminations starts and I remember thinking that if he was going to ask me to marry him this would be the perfect place to do it. (I was NOT expecting an engagement..I knew it was coming but I thought it would be in about 6 months or so).
When Illuminations was done I turned around to say something to him (he was behind me) and he was on one knee and he asked me to marry him..awe muchlove
He had apparently asked our waitress to give him a signal when the show was about to end so he could prepare. Once he asked and I said yes the wait staff made an announcement and sang "All You Need is Love" which was also the first song we danced to at our wedding.

Oh and the reason for the freak-outs earlier was he was wearing cargo shorts and the ring case was in his cargo pocket..he didn't want me to brush up against him and feel it.

Oh, now I'm getting all weepy! Ha Ha! I always feel so bad for these guys who have to plan these elaborate things. Sounds like yours came off without a hitch! Very romantic!

Since I know Caitie and doubt she'll post ours on here, I'll tell it.
She had a pretty good idea it was coming - or at least within a few week period of knowing when it was coming.
I knew she didn't want anything public, so that was out. At the time, she was still in school and we only saw each other on weekends usually. On one of her weekends here, we went to Fridays for dinner. I was trying to keep things as normal as I could so she wouldn't know anything was up. (Later she said she was suspicious because I wasn't really talking much, but didn't know why). We came home, and I said I really needed to go to the bathroom. I ran upstairs and changed into a suit. I had previously laid out rose petals and set up my ipod to play some of our favorite songs - Someone to Watch Over Me and the song that became our song at our wedding, Jason Robert Brown's Someone to Fall Back On. I lit some candles and dimmed the lights. I called her cell phone and asked her to come upstairs. She was confused because she thought I was in the bathroom. I told her I needed help with something. She came up, still quite confused, opened the door to our bedroom, and saw me there with the music playing. I said "this is it!" She covered her mouth with surprise.
I sat her down on the bed and I gave her a journal I'd been keeping of our relationship from the past six months or so - telling her how I felt and some of the things we'd done together. She was crying, and said she didn't want to read the whole thing right then, so I told her to skip to the last page. The last entry was dated the day of the rengagement (last minute printing when I realized she was coming that weekend on Thursday rather than Friday!) and ended with "...and now there's only one thing left to say..." and I got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes before I even got the words out. I had champagne and chocolate cake ready to celebrate. And then we spent the next two hours calling our family and friends. I'll never forget Caitie jumping up and down with excitement as she made those calls!

Oh, I'm loving these stories!! Teacherdrama, I can't believe we haven't heard that story before! We got to watch you guys ramp up to your wedding, and then heard about your honeymoon -- why didn't we think to ask about the engagement (thanks Bella!). So sweet!

It's the worst when it's in the title and you can't fix it!

Ours was at DLRP, on new years eve, at midnight.....

I knew it was coming as it was FREEZING (I was wearing leggings under my trousers, thick woolly socks, furry boots, hat, scarf, gloves, thick coat etc) and Simon had a thick wool coat on and this big box poking out on one side awesome bless him afterwards he said he was dying to ask me all day but he waited until the fireworks started and got down on one knee in the huge crowds of people (how he found room to get down one one knee I dont know) and he asked me and obviously I said yes, cried and watched the rest of the fireworks. After the fireworks stopped people all around us were cheering, grabbing my hand (to see the ring), kissing us on both cheeks, saying 'yes? yes?' (mostly they were french), it was actually really lovely all these strangers making a big fuss of us muchlove muchlove

Also we pulled our engagement into our wedding by having the tables named after disney couples - the top table being beauty and the beast biggrin

Were there any family tables or the wedding party tables? Curious what couple they got named after.
