What to do on Halloween?

We will be in WDW for Halloween this year, but what should we do on the day itself? Don't want to do MNSSHP as we will do that earlier in the trip, what else is there that goes on around disney? Or even offsite as we will have a car (thought about maybe visiting celebration)

Been to HHN many times, and I know what the queues are like on a Thursday, let alone on Halloween itself! Thanks for the idea though Smile xxxx

Skip the Halloween hoopla and go have a signature dining experience. Will probably be less crowded?

If you are not used to Halloween in America I'm with Eeyore and head to a signature dining restaurant. It would be well worth it instead of all the madness that is Halloween.

There might be activities at DTD. Unfortunately it falls on a Friday, so get ready for hordes of locals.

Going to Celebration kind of sounds like fun! I bet the residents there go all out with the decorations!

My room mate went to Raglan Road on Halloween last year and he said that it was PACKED even though there was nothing Halloweeny going on. Lots of people were in costume and just having a good time. If I were doing MNSSHP earlier in the trip, I'm not so sure I would really worry about the actual day.

I think the Ft. Wilderness campground area may be a nice place to visit and see the various campgrounds that are highly decorated for Halloween and Christmas. Also their Trail's End restaurant is a very nice place for a different change of pace. I believe that arrangements can also be made to rent a golf cart to cover more territory, which could be advantageous to you. And who knows you could even take in the Hoop Dee Doo review which is in the same building as the Trail's End rest.

I have read that Celebration started closing to outsiders on Hallowe'en as too many people trick or treating there but not sure how true that is

Most resorts host Halloween activities on Halloween like trick or treating and a dance party.

VelcroPooh

I will tell you we didn't really find much to do on Halloween that was Halloween related. Our resort (POR) did have pumpkins carved and glowing and some activities for the kiddos, but not much in the way of adults. DTD wasn't really doing anything either, just packed.

We ended up doing Epcot for most of the day and it was probably the least crowded day there because I think everyone was looking for Halloween type stuff.

We had a nice meal in world showcase and then watched hallow wishes from the poly. So maybe a wishes cruise would be fun. It really is amazing to see the show from a distance.

There is a Haunted Carriage ride available at Fort Wilderness. Also, the resorts have pumpkin decorating contests and trick-or-treating.

Have they started the haunted carriage rides up again?
