haha! It really is all over, isn't it? The short answer is it's in support of marriage equality. The symbol and colors represent that all love is equal. 
Oh that's lovely! We are in the process of legalising gay marriage here in the UK, it's been legal to have a civil partnership for a while but this is the first time for marriage. About time too!

LoL... Yea, that's part of the whole experience and why many people love it so much. It's not for any reason, a quick meal.
Did you tell your server that you were in a hurry? Also, would you have enjoyed it if you had not been in a hurry?
Kristen K, I do not recall if I told the server that we where in a rush, nor did I want to spoil the mood. But I was surprised to say the least, especially when I asked for ketchup.

I am on the bandwagon for F&W. We seem to go every year during F&W and we have to leave Epcot early every time because of the crowds. Too many people and lines at the food booths are way too long.
I don't get the "Drinking around the World" . Sorry but I don't understand what fun it is going around trying to see how many drinks you can drink in one trip around the World Showcase and getting falling down stupid drunk. I'm all for having a few beers or martini's , but some of these people just get plain stupid, and during the F & W festival forget it. It's totally ridiculous at night and the weekends.

For me, drinking around the world is a chance to try beers that I can't usually get at the regular supermarket. I enjoy a good beer in the way some people enjoy wine. It's not about getting drunk, it's about expanding my palate! That said, if you're not careful, you do end up sloppy sloppy sloppy!! Thank goodness, there are so many good places to stop and EAT while you're on your journey!!
You all now have me scared about F&W. I'm going to be there 2x during F&W.....

I've been to F&W every year for 10 years. I have never seen any bad behavior. I have seen the uniformed drinking teams and I have seen people having lots of fun. But never had a problem. The lines are long sometimes, but hey, it's Disney. I try to stay away the first and last weekends.
When I get too drunk I just take a dip in World Showcase Lagoon. Very refreshing.

Fortunately for me, I have never seen/experienced anyone acting badly during the F & W festival. As the Colonel said, long lines and folks having fun, but no bad behavior.
The F & W festival does get crowded, and what I do is, sample what I went there to sample (foods/wines), & then head towards a less crowded park or go back to my resort to enjoy the pool.
As with anything in life, moderation is the key to having a great time. 
We also love the Food and Wine Festival, so don't worry, maybe you will, too.
I agree with everyone about the turkey legs. Also I don't get what all the hype is about Disney Quest. We went there last year and I wasn't impressed at all.

I don't like ice cream (or anything creamy/custardy) so that rules out a whole lotta famous snacks! (Mickey Bar, Dole Whip etc.)

I have not noticed long lines or uncomfortable crowds the 2 times we have been to F&W. Maybe it's because we have gone mid week, mid October? I enjoy a few snacks on my way through. We are not drinkers, so drinking around the world is not appealing to us. We do like food though!! I am looking forward to going back again this year.
Agreed with Lights, Motors, Action. It was neat to see once. After that, boring. I kind of feel the same about Indiana Jones.

I know a lot of people will think I'm nuts, but, Peter Pan's Flight. It's not that I dislike it, I just don't think it's worth a fast pass or a 45 to 90 minute standby!

I seem to enjoy F&W a little less every year as I slowly realzie, you know this is just the same thing as last year. While there are new yearly additions, I wish they would change it up just a little more each year. But with new people coming in every year, I see that as unlikely.

I was very pleased to see that last year at F&W they offered a 3oz tasting size for the beers. It allowed my traveling companion the opportunity to try lots of different beers without getting wasted. I think that it was a very responsible move on Disney's part, I wish they would do that all year long.

We are just starting to be able to get the craft beers in some grocery stores around here in PA I'm talking about the people that think it's a "how many can you drink before you fall down" game. Last time we were there for F&WF, we came out of Le Cellier and it was wall to wall people. There were people getting sick on the sidewalks, in the bathrooms, stumbling around yelling for their friends, it was bad. Even the cast members said they had never seen it that bad before. We headed straight for the exit and didn't look back.

Oh - yes! On this, I agree with you. What are people thinking?? I think a lot of them under estimate the combo of binge drinking, heat, sun, and dehydration! Just for the record, I may have been a little tipsy on the last country-crawl through the WS, but I've NEVER (and WOULD NEVER) exhibit this behavior! At Disney or anywhere else!
I have drunk around the world (all 11 countries) three times. I was tipsy and having a great time, but not drunk or out of control. It is very do-able but you have to really take your time (we started at around 1pm and finished at 9pm for illuminations). We also ate lots of food and did shopping and attractions too. I think the people who get ill or out of control are either trying to get drunk or trying to do it too quick.

Oh my goodness Cafe Du Monde is delicious. If I can think of a couple of things: turkey legs, mickey ears (just not my thing, although I have a paid from DLR as a child), every MK restaurant besides Pecos Bill's -- all others are overpriced for what you get, Enchanted Tiki Room, Peter Pan isn't worth the wait (unless you have kids),, Voyage of the Little Mermaid (also not worth it).
Great Movie Ride would be in that same category, but you can catch it with a five (or so) minute wait, which is well worth it. I feel like that ride gets cheesier every time.
Can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but there are more! Good thread!

It's about money, though. If a guest wants to try every kind, and not get sloppy, they're going to have to drink a whole serving, which comes with the high price tag. I think Guests would be willing to pay more/oz if it came in a smaller sample size, though, and the majority of people would be trying more kinds of beer.

I get Turkey Legs, but it bothers me that people just walk around with them, eating them like animals! Now I'll eat an ice cream and get chocolate all over my face...but the turkey legs are so big and seem so messy! I don't get why people don't sit and eat them, like a meal. I have never really understand Epcot as a park. I love the Nemo and Figment rides and Soarin' is amazing, but I guess maybe because I keep kosher and don't eat the food, I hate the pavilions. I just get bored! Anyone else feel this way?? In my opinion, too big a park with not enough to do.

I enjoyed 80's Epcot WAY more than what we have today. I'm not sure if it's an age perspective thing or because it has changed so much. Though I love the dining, other things that I really enjoyed have disappeared over the years such as the national travel desks, performers that are actually from the country they represent, and really unique shopping. I also miss the Parade of Nations.

IMO half the fun of Epcot's World Showcase is all the international food choices, so if I couldn't eat there I'm sure I would share your feelings.
Epcot. I just don't get it. I go for Figment & the shops in China, Japan & Mexico & every few trips a nap in Ellen's Energy Adventure. Maybe it's because it's the most static of any of the parks or that it has a strange two parks smashed together in to one vibe to it, but regardless of why it doesn't work for me.
I used to not really care a whole lot about the World Showcase thinking just a walk around the lake pretty much showed it all. But I enjoyed it when I stumbled across a show. Then I dsicovered those little brown pamphets with show times. They provide tons more entertainment in the World showcase. Ever seen the Ziti Sisters in Italy? Will give you whole new memories to laugh over.
All right guys- I'm sure I'm about to commit a Disney-sin, but the rides in general were a let down for me... And we just finished our first time trip to WDW, visited all 4 parks, and rode all the biggest/most raved about "thrill" rides at each park (except for pirates of the Caribbean ride & haunted mansion- my teenage daughter still gets scared). But seriously- Everest, rock n roller coaster, thunder mountain railway, space mountain, tower of terror, etc. jst didn't get them. I get they r very "visual", but not what I would call a "thrill" ride in comparison to what we are use to from our local "theme park"- kings island in Cincinnati. After each of the above- my daughter and I would look at each other and say, "that's it?" Was really jst amazed what all the fuss was about, especially when they were over so quickly. Luckily we "fast pass-ed" all the lines, but if we would have waited the 45- 90min estimates for these rides- i would have been soooooooo unhappy. The only exception we found was test track- again not that scary- but it was fun and we thought the interactive features were amazing. We enjoyed the trip all in all, but guess Kings Island has made us "thrill ride snobs."
