Disney World Horseback Riding and Carriage Rides

After all the walking in and around Disney, it is good to sit for a change.  What better way to relax your feet, mind and body than partake in a relaxing carriage ride through some of Disney's best properties.  Whether you're cuddling with your sweetheart or looking for a family excursion, get the low down on the where, when and how of carriage rides Disney-style.

Both Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Port Orleans offer daily evening carriage rides (weather permitting) that last about a half hour.  Both cost upwards of $45 to rent a small carriage (ideal for couples) or a large family (great for two couples or a family of 4-5); reservations can be made 180 days in advance, so plan early!

Themed carriage rides are offered around Halloween and Christmas at Fort Wilderness.  These are a bit pricier, but no less popular.  Make sure to plan early & accordingly.

If you'd like to ditch the carriage and give horseback riding a try, Fort Wilderness also offers daily riding sessions that last about an hour.  Keep in mind, everyone in your party must be at least 9 years old and 48 inches high, but under 250 pounds.  Again, reservations can be made 180 days in advance.
