For further proof that Walt Disney World really does have something for everyone, look to Disney's Wide World of Sports. Think of it as Disney's answer for sports enthusiasts who say: "Disney? But how am I going to live without my sports?"
The Wide World of Sports contains venues for over thirty different sports including baseball, tennis and beach volleyball among others. Needless to say, the complex is large, encompassing 220 acres. It even has its own 9500 seat baseball park. A virtual plethora of both professional and amateur sporting events are held regularly, featuring the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneer's summer training camp and the spring training of the Atlanta Braves.
It's wise to note that Disney guests aren't permitted to actually use the complex for playing, say, a game or three of volleyball unless said guests are part of a scheduled event. However, for a sports fan, checking the complex's schedule to see what or who is playing can satisfy your need for sports while at WDW. The complex features both full- and counter-service restaurants and is also accessible by the Disney transportation system.
