Ticket Price Increases Announced at Walt Disney World Resort

After several weeks of speculation, it's official. You'll be paying more for single-day and multi-day tickets at Walt Disney World. A one-day ticket for the Magic Kingdom is now $105 plus tax. The ticket price for the other theme parks has also increased to $97 plus tax.

The Walt Disney World Speedway is closing in June which means the end of the Richard Petty Driving Experience and the Exotic Driving Experience. The closure of the "Mickyard," as the Speedway was often referred to, means that nearly 70 people will be out of jobs.

Hotel Occupancy at Disney Resorts Reached 89 Percent in First Quarter

During its fiscal first quarter The Walt Disney Company has seen its domestic hotel occupancy spike to 89 percent, compared to 81 percent for the same time last year. The report took into account room occupancy at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Disneyland Resort hotels.

Bob Iger Says Plans for ‘Star Wars’ Presence at Disney Theme Parks to be Announced Later this Year

While there's no concrete news about how Disney is going to grow the Star Wars presence in its theme parks around the world, there is a lot of speculation. Disney CEO Bob Iger fueled that speculation last week during a call with Wall Street analysts when he said there is a "fair amount of design and development taking place" to increase Star Wars presence in "multiple locations."
