After several weeks of speculation, it's official. You'll be paying more for single-day and multi-day tickets at Walt Disney World. A one-day ticket for the Magic Kingdom is now $105 plus tax. The ticket price for the other theme parks has also increased to $97 plus tax.
Disney announced the price increase on February 21 and it was official on Sunday, February 22.
The price increase for the Magic Kingdom tickets is a 6 percent increase. Last year's price increase took the cost of a one-day ticket for the Magic Kingdom up to $99 plus tax.
The Park Hopper option for a single day ticket has also increased this year from $35 up to $50.
Multi-day tickets for all theme parks are increasing by $1 to $2 per day while the Park Hopper option on mulit-day tickets is going up by $4.
Another change announced with the ticket increase: the "No Expiration" option is gone forever.
Passholder prices also increased. The cost of an Annual Pass is now $654, which is a $20 increase and Florida Resident Passes are now $529 up from $485.
In a statement release Saturday a Disney spokesperson said, "A day at a Disney park is unlike any other in the world, and there is a strong demand for our attractions and entertainment. We continually add new experiences, and many of our guests select multi-day tickets or annual passes which provide great value and additional savings."
Ten years ago, in 2005, a one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom cost $59.75.
What do you think about this new price increase? We'd love to hear your comments!

well everything goes up but it is sad that it is getting so expensive as it will now take me longer to save and for others it will become only a dream. :-(
