Welcome Len! I went to Hawaii on a solo trip for my 40 birthday a few years ago. Beautiful state.

Welcome Len! Walt Disney World and Hawaii = My two most favorite vacation spots for very different reasons. Though I confess we have not yet been to Honolulu. We have only been to Maui, so our next trip (which we're hoping will be in the next couple of years) will probably cover more than one island. We may have to throw a little Aulani in there as well. Glad to have you here with us!

Mahalo for the well wishes RobynPrincess! Glad you'll get to visit the islands in 2017. If possible, see the outer islands too (I know Oahu and Waikiki is a must for most 1st time visitors). I live in Honolulu, but my wife and I bought a house on the Big Island in an area called Waimea. It's home to Parker Ranch, the largest privately owned ranch in the USA. Thank you alicemouse for your kind offer I may take you folks up on advice and help. I've been doing some pretty intense research on WDW prior to booking things. Don't think I prepped this hard in college...haha!
Mahalo TinsASL! I think you choose wisely heading to Maui first! I love Oahu, but it is definitely the most crowded and hectic of the islands. I would actually by pass Oahu and head straight to Kauai and the Big Island!

I have belonged to quite a few forums in my time, and you will not find a better group of people than the ones on here. It is grownups sharing their love of Disney and nothing else. It was such a relief when I joined!
