A friend of mine posted on FB today that there could be an announcement made this week that Cars Land is coming to DHS.

Here's the link she posted.

I'm hoping to ride the DCA version ext year. This is really going to open up DHS aside from the muppets and now Phineas & Ferb there's really nothing worth going to back there. No offense. Jt once you've seen lights motor action it's easy to skip it.
I like catastrophe canyon however cars land will do much better back there.
Yay!

I really, really hope they do it. Someday I'm gonna get to Anaheim, but until that happens I would love a Cars Land here on the east coast.

Yep, the WDWFG staff had been kicking around if we should report it here, but at this point it hasn't been verified with other sources. What I can say for sure is that Disney made a sudden change to a Press Event being held tomorrow from a "What's Next" talk to a "Around the World" talk.

It seems like they're not quite ready to share whatever the "next" news is. I'm holding out hope that it will be really big.

I wonder if there was an idea to do an East Coast version of Cars Land, but maybe the acquisition of LucasFilms is making them rethink some things? No matter what I'm sure it will be great for business!

My brother is hoping they do a Star Wars land. Either way, I'd love something new at DHS biggrin

How about Ratatouille Land? It could include great restaurants and a water attraction to simulate Remy's turbulent ride into the Parisian sewers (sans sewer smells, bien sur). Maybe also a dark ride a la Peter Pan's Flight or Haunted Mansion depicting Remy's journey from farmhouse rat to world-class chef. Oh, and a counter service restaurant featuring corn puppies!

Okay, maybe not. But if they did it, it would immediately become MY number one DHS attraction.

Like my wife said... im not interested in a Cars Land at all. Let Cali have something for their own ya know? Im tired of stuff being built over there, and then I get this feeling of... Oh! I need to visit there maybe instead of WDW! But then you hear its being built in WDW.

I say... they already have a STRONG Toy Story element there in HS. I say build upon that. Rather than the Honey I Shrunk the Kids stuff... turn it into Andys Play Room. Go all Toy Story! Its only the most popular Pixar movie? So why not?

That's much better and less terrifying than my thought of turning it into Sid's Backyard!

I'm not a fan of Cars either, but I think Cars Land looks fun. I love what they did with Cars in AoA. Toy Story would be a good idea too. The Toy Story land in DLP looks fun too. I'm torn.

Mase, you still need to get out to DCA. there are lots of things to see and do that we don't have at WDW. You're going to love the CA screaming coaster and world of color

If DHS added a Toy Story Land as awesome as what I've heard about Cars Land, I would not feel the least bit shortchanged or disappointed. It would be cool having two different but equally awesome new lands, one on each coast.

In all honesty... I would say the next update could be Star Wars related... UNLESS they do a whole new park dedicated to it. With Disney owning the rights to Star Wars... that would be a perfect addition to HS. But if they are smart... im pulling for a whole new Star Wars park. Then they can have there Star Wars party but in a HUGE way.

I just feel like HS lost some of their original vision somewhere, and Disney has never really been able to recapture it. Probably about the time they stopped being MGM and they added the hat. The backstage attraction used to be a much bigger deal with two major parts. It was really the biggest thing at the park, but now it is really more something to do if you have extra time. Plus when you enter the park and start to get that Hollywood feel, it was kind of neat to be walking toward the Chinese Theater. I feel like a bit of the magic left when that view theater was blocked. I still have hopes that one day Disney will recapture their original intentions at HS in a way that will appeal to all, but as of now I understand why many people may pass on it when choosing which park to visit.

I think that Cars Land would be a good addition to DHS only because we need something more there and if that's what they're going with then so be it. I never got a chance to file my Thanksgiving trip report, but I was going to say in it that DHS was a mixed bag for me this time around. I loved Star Tours, and besides the Holiday lights, when in season, and Fantasmic, it's the only good thing there more me right now (I haven't mustered up the courage for ToT). I can't comment on Toy Story Mania because both times we hopped to that park there were no Fast Pass tickets available and the wait was always 120+, so I have yet to enjoy that ride.

Although, I agree that Andy's Room in place of Honey I Shrunk The Kids would be awesome, and an expanded Star Wars area should be a definite must.

I completely agree J. I think that the Pixar addition has been good, but there still needs to be more. To me, the creativity of the park has been lost and many of the attractions are sadly dated. They have billions of dollars worth of refurbishments that need to be done, but if the gate can't sustain it in ticket costs, I'm not sure that Disney will see the need soon enough.

I don't remember exactly where I heard or read this at but someone told me that they are going to be getting rid of the hat. I think it might of been Jessi from here who works at Hollywood Studios

I have been to Cars land CA... it's very impressive to say the least and Radiator Springs (think test track with unreal scenary and story integrated) is one the best rides Disney has ever imagineered.

I am not even a huge fans of the movies, but they have really outdone themselves with cars land.
