Hi from London

I'm doing this a bit backwards as I have already posted a question on the Romantic Planning area but Hi!!! I'm Emma stars

I'm planning my first (as an adult) trip to WDW May 2016 for my boyfriend's 30th Birthday.

I've only been to WDW once when I was 14 (i think) so am really looking forward to experiencing it as an adult (I think I love Disney more now than when I was a child) and my OH has been a few times but again only as a child / teenager.

We are staying at the Port Oleans French Quarter Hotel from 6th May for 10 Nights and then driving across to st Petes for a few days chilling out on the beach. It will be my OH's 30th Birthday on the 15th which will also be out last full day in Disney.

This forum has been a life send and I've already learnt so many tips and extra ideas!

Any Tips, Hints, Ideas and must does would be well received muchlove

Hi Emma.

I'm from Southampton - just down the M3 biggrin

You've chosen a beautiful resort, you won't be disappointed and early/mid May is a great time to go - wish I could visit then but I'm limited to school holidays!

'Must dos' for me would include watching the welcome show at MK, seeing Wishes and going to the HDDR at Fort Wilderness. But everyone has their own favourite things and I'm sure you'll end up with a long list! Do you have the free dining package? If so you'll need to make at least some adrs at the 180 day point. If you need help deciding which restaurants to book, just ask!

Have fun planning mickey

Hi All.

We got the quick service meal plan included and upgraded to the Dining plan (one sit down, one quicke service and one snack). I would happily take any recomendations for restaurants!

whats does HDDR stand for?

So far the only thing I've planned (and ready to book as soon as I can) is private dinning at the grand floridian for my OH's birthday (and our last night) and the wilderness segway tour thing Smile

I'm so excited already!!! yay

Welcome Emma!!!! You are going to love it here! My hubby and I went on our first adult trip last year for my 40th and we will be going in SEVEN days for his! Going as an adult is so much fun! Don't skip the "kiddie" stuff!!! We love ridding ALL of the rides. A romantic dinner is always the way to go. Strolling Disney Springs in the evening and stopping for an ice cream or in the candy store. If you have times, explore some of the other resorts. We like to do the Monorail Crawl hitting the Poly, Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. Each has it's own distinct flair, shops and lounges! Take a tour in one of the parks. This is on my list of things to do but many others have done them and if interested I am sure they would love to share thoughts with you. I hope you enjoy every minute of it! There is so much to plan and look forward too.

welcome Emma! Dinner at the Grand Floridian sounds fantastic. I suggest that you really spend time in every "country" at Epcot. Ride the boat ride in Mexico, watch the movie in Canada, listen to the singers in America-do all of the not so thrilling things because you may be as pleasantly surprised as we were after trying the exhibits. We like thrills, thought we'd be bored with the presentations, but they are really fun. Honestly, no matter what you decide to do, you'll always have fun at Disney. mickey

Hi there! Pleased to see more UK faces on the forum! I'm from Glasgow and we took our first adult trip two years ago for our Honeymoon. We're going back for my 30th Birthday and staying at Port Orleans Riverside, so I guess we actually have a bit in common! You guys are going to have so much fun, looking forward to reading about your trip. This forum is basically my favourite ever Disney resource so I hope you find it helpful!

RobynPrincess - Was it you that wrote the trip report on the Private Dinning at the Grand Floridian? (sorry if I have the wrong person) but that's what convinced me to go for it! Smile

lolastardust - Ahhh we do have a lot in common then! what have you got planned so far?

Hope all you guys who are out there atm have an awesome time, I can't wait for the Trip reports! (I actually think reading them is becoming a bit of an addiction for me) Smile

Sorry, I just spotted this! We've planned loads already! An ADR for each day, including Be Our Guest, Sanaa, and lots of other exciting places. Fastpasses for Anna & Elsa, 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, Soarin', and lots more. We have a jam-packed itinerary for every day we're there, including park plans and night-time entertainment. I posted my pre-trip report with itinerary a wee while ago. In fact, I may have over-planned slightly cause I'm so excited! laugh It's only 31 days now so I'm starting to freak out cause the wait is almost over!
