• AMC Dine-In Theater Experience Coming to Downtown Disney Next Week

    Dinner and a movie: it's the perfect combo. Starting next Monday, the AMC Theater in Downtown Disney is gearing up to offer in-theater dining to movie-goers.

    Six of the theater's auditoriums will be equipped with the new dining option. Guests will be able to watch a current flick while enjoying a meal. The theater's dine-in option gives guests reserved seats complete with a table top for dining as well as a call button for personalized service to those seats.

  • Rachel Weisz May Join Kunis As "Oz" Witch

    Early last month, we reported that Mila Kunis had signed on to play a witch in the upcoming Disney film "Oz: The Great and Powerful." Now, Rachel Weisz is reportedly in talks to join the cast along side Kunis.

    "Oz" is a prequel to the 1930's film "The Wizard of Oz" and takes place before the events of L. Frank Baum's classic story. James Franco, who is slated to fill the Wizard's shoes, will help chronicle that character's beginnings as a snake-oil salesman.

  • Art Attack Is Back On Disney

    If you were watching Disney in the 80's and 90's, you might remember Art Attack. This was a show in which the host, Neil Buchanan, created murals and art using items found in everyday life. Coming soon, a new generation of Disney fans can see the revived version of the show on Disney Junior.

    The show gets an updated host (Jassa Ahluwalia), but will retain the same premise. In addition, "Big Art Attacks" will be featured much as they were in the past. Viewers tuning in can expect to see new characters and sets.

  • A New Deal for Disney's Part-Time Workers?

    Though the official contract vote is anticipated sometime next month, a tentative deal was recently reached between Disney and its part-time staff represented by the Service Trades Council.

    Some 10,000 of Disney's "casual regular" workers are affected by the deal which includes bonuses of up to $275 for those staff not earning tips and $50 for those whose work regularly includes gratuities. In addition, the contract will also add Dr. Martin King Luther Day and Labor Day as days in which staff can be paid holiday pay.

    Disney's Night of Joy, an after-hours Christian music event at the Magic Kingdom, will be held this year September 9 and 10. Tickets for the two-night musical gathering are on sale now.

    This year's lineup of artists feature some well-known names in the Christian scene. Performing for the first night of the celebration are Group 1 Crew, Francesca Battistelli, Sidewalk Prophets, Jeremy Camp, Skillet, Matthew West, Disciple and Newsboys. The second night will feature performances by TobyMac, Jars of Clay, MercyMe, Marvin Sapp, VaShawn Mitchell, Sanctus Real, Chris August and Kutless.

    "Cars" fans, take notice and prepare to mark your calendars: the Downtown Disney Car Masters Weekend is gearing up to take place May 13 - 15.

    Just in time to celebrate the upcoming release of "Cars 2," the gang from Radiator Springs will be making appearances all weekend at Downtown Disney. Families can catch up with Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile, as well as partake in "Cars"-related activities.
