Despite earning a seemingly permanent home in the famed "Disney Vault" due to its reliance on racial stereotypes to tell a story, Song of the South has an enduring legacy in Walt Disney World, even if many guests don't recognize the origin of some of Disney's most iconic elements. The Reconstruction Era film centers on Uncle Remus, a black man who is presumably a recently freed slave, telling stories to the children.

As Disney fans, we probably all have a list of things to do, places to eat, menu items we want to eat, and even hotels we must stay in at some point in our travels to the Walt Disney World Resort. It might come as no surprise to anyone that I have a Disney dining bucket list.

A few days ago a WDWFG forum member posed the question - what do you do at Disney when you're not riding rides? My answer was pretty simple, shopping, eating, and taking pictures - lots and lots of pictures. I'm not a crazy great photographer, but I take pictures of everything when I'm a Disney. I take broad landscapes, and I love to get in on the close up image, I create stories that when ordered well back at home show the viewer exactly where I went and what I did.

The Magic Kingdom's Main Street Electrical Parade is ending on October 9 and moving to the Disneyland Resort for a "limited-time encore engagement." Disneyland's Paint the Night Parade, which was part of its Diamond Celebration, ends on September 5.

The rock boarders and net fences are new along the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon, but honestly, guests of Walt Disney World haven't been allowed full access to beach fun on the lagoon for more than a decade now. There are still a few of us who can remember swimming off the shores of Bay Lake, but many Disney fans have always had to look someplace else for their beach day.

The 2016 Night of Joy is scheduled for September 9-10 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. In addition to two nights of Contemporary Christian Music, this year's event will also feature other special activities at the Wide World of Sports Complex.

Just like the Better After Dark in the Magic Kingdom attractions we previously discussed, there are a few things at Epcot that become even more magical after the sun goes down. Lighting elements seem to bring the imagination alive as the countries of World Showcase are somehow transported back to their native lands, and Future World becomes a limitless realm where tomorrow could bring anything.
