In 1958, planning for the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley was in full force. The International Olympic Committee had awarded the games to the struggling ski resort based on the promise that a dynamic new athletic venue would spring from the blank canvas and that the result would be an Olympic village like none that had ever existed. Instead, the limitations of the small space turned out to be so great that the bobsled event had to be canceled for the first time ever due to the expense of creating a run.

The 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival kicks off March 2 for its 90-day run. This year's extended run means there are two more weekends for the Garden Rocks concert series and this year's concerts will feature four new acts.

runDisney's Princess Marathon Weekend is set to kick off from February 18-February 21, 2016 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The Walt Disney World Resort has filed plans with the South Florida Water Management District to build a 286,000-square-foot venue at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. There is no word on what the actual venue would be.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is home to a hidden gem of a restaurant, tucked way back in the Streets of America section of the park. Of course, we're talking about Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano.
