Children’s Miracle Network Named as Presenting Sponsor for Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Children's Miracle Network has been named as the presenting sponsor for the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort.

As the presenting sponsor the Network will have the opportunity to raise awareness and fundraising for the Network's 170 children's hospitals.

AT&T Is the Official Wireless Provider for Disney Parks

Disney Parks and AT&T announced that AT&T is now the official wireless provider for Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland. The new partnership gives AT&T marketing and branding opportunities including sponsorship runDisney events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and other sporting events.

Disney also plans to work with AT&T to educate cast members and guests about AT&T's "It Can Wait" initiative that informs consumers about the dangers of texting while driving.

runDisney Kicks Off The 25th Annual Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

This week more than twenty thousand runners will be stepping off on their own personal journeys to greatness as they try and conquer the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon presented by Cigna. For 25 years this annual event has taken runners along the 26.2-mile course through Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The only runDisney course that goes through all four parks, this is the race that started it all.

Pre-trip Tips For Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend

runDisney's Princess Marathon Weekend is set to kick off from February 18-February 21, 2016 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. This fun race has been a catalyst for inspiring women, who never before dreamed of running, out the door and training for distances that they once thought impossible. I know it's true, because my friends and I have been some of them.

Why More and More Women Are Signing Up to runDisney

Women-only running events (95% or greater female) are on the rise, with over 200 events in 2011. Women of all ages, all shapes and sizes, and all athletic abilities are coming together to take on the challenge of conquering a long distance run. There is a sense of camaraderie and a lack of inhibition at these events that have women flocking to run.

It has been quite an exciting few weeks in the world of runDisney. Race season officially began over Labor Day weekend with the Disneyland Half Marathon and Jimmy Gabrow set a new course record by winning the race in 1:05! Cars Land was the main focus of the weekend beginning with the Cars Land 5K Rally that finished with racers running down Route 66. Half marathoners also had the chance to run through Cars Land on their course, many through a sea of neon in the morning darkness.

runDisney events are increasing in popularity every year. It is so great to see more people adopting a healthy lifestyle in order to participate in these events. Disney is doing a great job of diversifying their races to appeal to runners at all levels. From walkers, to moderate runners, to experienced marathoners, there is something for everyone.
