Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Announces a ‘Frozen’-themed 5K and New Medals

The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend has been Frozen.

Disney has announced that two events during the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, the Disney Princess 5K and the runDisney Kids Races, will have a Frozen theme. The medals for both events will depict a Frozen motif.

The Half Marathon Weekend also includes the Disney Princess Enchanted 10K, the half marathon, and the Glass Slipper Challenge. Runners completing the 19.3 mile Glass Slipper Challenge will receive the Disney Glass Slipper Challenge medal in addition to the 10K and half marathon medals.

Runners who complete the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February and the Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland in May 2015 will receive a special pink edition of the Coast-to-Coast Challenge Medal.

The weekend's events also include the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo, a breakfast with Disney princesses, a Pasta in the Park party at Epcot, a Race Retreat for a VIP running experience, and a Happily Ever After Party at Downtown Disney.

runDisney has also added a tropical twist to the 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon. The all-new Disney Castaway Cay Challenge combines one event (5K or longer) during the Princess Half Marathon Weekend with a Castaway Cay 5K.

This event takes place on the Disney Dream's 4-night Bahamian Cruise February 23-27. Registration for the Castaway Cay Challenge opens at 12 p.m. ET on July 22.

The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is February 19-22, 2015.

As of July 17, the Disney Princess Half Marathon, Enchanted 10K, and the Glass Slipper Challenge were sold out. Registration was still open for the Disney Princess 5K and Kids Races.
