Hey Everyone!
So this is my first pre-trip report and my first experience with FP+ and DVC Rental. I am so excited for this trip although we were just in the World less than a year ago, I know you guys can feel me when I say that that is too long!
So first let me give some intros..
Who's Who??
Me: obviously the girl in the picture. 25 years old. Full time receptionist as well as a full time student studying to be an elementary school teacher. I should be done by next Fall so this will probably be our last low-crowds, non-summer trip for a very lonnnggggg time and I plan on enjoying it.
Bill: my wonderful, not-quite-as-obsessed-with-Disney boyfriend. He is 28 (turning 29 the day before our trip) and this is our 3rd trip together. He isn't quite as planning obsessed as I am but he loves Disney World and once he is there he goes into full on fanatic mode (I just have to keep my crazy plans toned down before hand). When not on vacation he is an operations manager/wedding coordinator for a banquet facility and I know what you're thinking... yes I have already pushed for him to do Disney weddings and its a possibility
We will also be hanging out with my awesome cousin Patrick who has been a cast member for 5 or 6 years now. He is the one I can thank for rekindling my love of Disney World.. I enjoyed it as a kid but if it were not for visiting him I would not know how wonderful it really is as an adult!
The Plans
Wednesday October 15th
Catch the earliest flight we could find flying out of Philadelphia so we land at MCO at 9:25am
Arrive at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani by 11am (hopefully)
I've put in a request for a Savannah View on my online check-in so . We also are celebrating our 4 year anniversary as well as Bill's birthday, so we're hoping to get the appropriate buttons at check in.
We are going to drop off bags either in the room if its ready (which I doubt) or at the front desk and explore the grounds a bit as this is our first time at AKL. Then its off to DHS to see Patrick and get down to business! (to defeat the huns)
FP+ - Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror (will probably ride a few more times if wait time is short), and Star Tours (I don't think we'll need this but I just did it so we could have 3 FP+'s for the day).
After enjoying DHS its off to Epcot via the boat for F&W exploring and EMH!
Thursday October 16th
Breakfast at Boma scheduled. This is our first time at this restaurant but the reviews I've read have all been good and I really am a sucker for a good breakfast buffet.
After breakfast its off to Animal Kingdom
FP+ - Kilimanjaro Safari, Everest (will probably hit it up a couple more times in single rider) and Dinosaur.
*We also want to do Kali River Rapids, FOTLK and Its Tough to be a Bug, so those will be either extra fastpasses or walk ons depending on wait times
After Animal Kingdom we plan on going back to the resort, maybe hitting up the pool depending on the weather/time and just taking in the beauty of the lodge.. Then its off to Epcot for more F&W grazing for dinner (catching a pattern here).
Friday October 17th
No plans for breakfast, probably get something counter service (maybe one of those Sleepy Hollow waffles) because today is Magic Kingdom!!
FP+ - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (YAYYYY!), Splash Mountain, Big Thunder
*Normally we fly through Magic Kingdom at warp speed and don't really take the time to relax so I plan on really taking our time and hitting some of the attractions that we usually deem not that important. This is also one of Patrick's days off so we will meet up with him at some point, probably for lunch..
After getting our fill of MK, it is off to Epcot for (you guessed it) more F&W booths!!
- depending on when we finish at MK we might head back to the resort to rest and grab some drinks at the pool bar before heading to Epcot. Or we might just take the monorail if we get lost in the wonders of MK.
Saturday October 18th
Again no breakfast plans, might grab something at the Lodge CS or maybe just skip it and have an early lunch. The plans for the day are Epcot (again). This is also Patrick's day off so we will be with him for some of the day.
FP+ - Soarin', Mission Space, The Seas with Nemo.
*kind of upset Maelstrom is still not an option for FP+ but I will keep checking and if it comes available we will switch for that. Also plan on doing Test Track a couple times through single rider, or regular if the wait times are short.
Then its back to the resort to relax and get ready for our only dinner ADR at Kona Cafe! The ADR is at 7:50 so the plan is to eat and either catch Wishes from the Poly if construction isn't an issue or make our way to MK for it as well as evening EMH! I haven't done Magic Kingdom at night in years so I'm really excited for this. We plan on hitting Splash and Big Thunder again as well as Seven Dwarfs if the lines aren't long. I also am determined to experience The Kiss Goodnight so it looks like we'll be closing the park.
Sunday October 19th
Last full day
As much as this pre trip sounds planned I really am more of a spontaneous Disney traveler.. So this day is our free day. We have nothing really planned and we will just go with what we are in the mood for.
FP+ - Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain (I just made these just in case and they will probably change a bunch of times up to and during our trip)
We might try and get into Fantasmic since Bill's never done it.. but we know we want to end our last night in Epcot for F&W food and drinks.
Monday October 20th
Sigh.. its over...
We have a late flight so ME won't be getting us till around 5-5:30 this day so we plan on either hitting up some final parks for anything we missed or maybe just relaxing at the lodge.. Or we might attempt a monorail resort crawl or DTD. The options are open and we really want to relax and enjoy our last day in our favorite place.
Well, thanks for reading my longer than I expected pre trip report! Now its just full on countdown mode since we are under 60 days
