Seems appropriate the day after your election. This is all rug hooking - absolutely spectacular.

Not making any kind of statement here, but I was in Fredricksburg, VA over a Memorial Day weekend, and saw this at a Confederate (obviously) cemetery.

bighug Thank you so much for posting this picture. bighug
It's beautiful, and as a girl with many confederate soldiers as ancestors who's living in the North I never get to see things like this. I'm proud of my Southern heritage (but NOT in a creepy extremist racist sort of way) and seeing that these Americans are not forgotten at this time make me so happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You're welcome, you're welcome, you're welcome!

Never had such an appreciative response to one of my photos before on here! Smile

Does Disney still own the Queen Mary? I stayed there once maybe 20 years ago and thought it was quite lovely.

Caged

This is my favorite from an abstract photo class I took. The 'cage' is a sculputure in the middle of the canal (downtown Indy) and the 'bird' is a mural on a bridge several yards behind it. I like the colors and contrast of the lines and swirls. (I'll admit, it was kind of a lucky shot.)

Often times, there isn't much that's left of a historic site.

As requested, here are a few photos of the Queen Mary that is now permanently docked in Long Beach, CA.

The boarding area to get onto the ship and the hotel.

The very narrow hallway.

The top deck.

The bridge

One of the dining rooms.

This appears to be the ballroom.

The promenade

Misc. other stuff and decor.

OMGoodness! Hazegry, where did you take the pictures of the Avenger and Corsair? And, did you happen to get a picture of that PBY next to the Avenger? I have a deep and profound love for the old warbirds and the Catalina has always been one of my particular favorites! Awesome pics, thanks for sharing! awesome
