Food News In and Around Walt Disney World

Food at Disney World is an attraction in and of itself for many guests; here are some food news tidbits from around WDW.

First up are snacks. It looks like fans of the sweet cream cheese-filled pretzel can now get their fix at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The pretzels can be found on the Streets of America at the Pretzel Garden. Next, guests can use a Disney Dining Plan snack credit (or pay $3.19) to grab a Citrus Swirl. This sweet twist of vanilla soft-serve ice cream and frozen orange juice can be found in the Magic Kigndom's Sunshine Tree Terrace.

First Look At Art of Animation Resort's Unique Check-In

It looks like Disney's Art of Animation Resort will be handling the checking in of guests in an updated, re-thought way when it opens in May. Gone is the long desk staffed by multiple cast members and in is a more personal check-in experience.

The resort has installed a series of small tables to serve as a check-in point for guests. Guests will be greeted individually by cast members who will assist them in getting settled into the resort.

In addition, guests will find the lobby filled to the brim with, appropriately enough, animation art from Disney movies.

    Monorail To Get Marvel Makeover

Earlier in March, we reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger had revealed plans to incorporate Marvel characters into Disney parks in the future. We now know there is at least one solid plan to feature some these characters in Walt Disney World.

Disney recently announced plans to wrap one of Walt Disney World's monorail trains with an "Avengers" theme. Look for the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow to be featured on the monorail train.

    Grand Floridian's Easter Egg Display

Looking for an Easter-inspired attraction to take in during your visit to Walt Disney World? You might want to head on over to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to take in their impressive Easter egg collection.

For fifteen years now, the resort's chocolatiers have been making a variety of eggs for the display. The eggs weigh in at nine to twelve pounds, and each one is totally edible with fondant, icing and sugar pieces used for decoration.
