Not so good Wednesday. A week ago yesterday, I has an out patient procedure to treat varicose veins that are actually deep in the muscle and cause nasty leg cramps. So after 20 shots I needed to wear a sign that says "I am not a victim of domestic abuse."
Yesterday I returned to have the other leg done BUT the first leg was full of infection from arch of foot to knee. So I am in pressure wrap, oral antibiotic, and elevated leg for 48 hrs. Whether we will be able to do the second leg is now in doubt since the last time I had this done the second leg did the same darn thing. Soooooo, eating light, lots of water, singing(do that anyway) and watching Youtube Disney videos as we close in on our 100 day mark until trip.

Keep up the activities! It can only help us as we age!!!! (Mine is just on one foot)

Good morning all! Happy Friday!!
Got my walk in yesterday. The rain held off. A little sore this morning. Started deep knee bends with my routine. Good for the legs! Going to walk this morning while it is cool. It has been in the 80s and muggy during the evening. DH has to walk with the push mower this evening to get his walk in. Lol
Dinner is curry chicken salad and pineapple. I tend to make a lot of salads in the hot weather.
KF tell your DS that we actually saw the raccoon this morning!! The motion sensor light went off around 3 am so I got up and looked out. The biggest raccoon that I have ever seen was walking around our backyard!! It was huge!! We don't know how he is getting in since it is fenced in. I don't think I will be camping out there until he is gone though!! laugh
Everyone have a safe and happy weekend!!

Good morning! How is everyone today?
Hope you all feel happy and healthy.
My DH and I are still keeping active. We are getting prepared for our two weeks in a few months hiking in Utah. So on the weekends we do really long walks or hiking. Had to do the walk this weekend cause of rain. We got over 6 miles in this time.
We both do weights every other day and stretches in between.
Trying to eat light and leaner too. Dinner today is pomegranate glazed salmon with wilted spinach.
Tell me what your exercise routines are do we can share with others.
Just because you may have already gone to Disney this year doesn't mean we should not still workout.
Hope everyone has a magical and happy day!! Keep moving!

You are absolutely right Boomer! I have definitely slacked off since my trip, and have gained back a few pounds because of it... Your words have inspired me to get back on track! clapping

And I wonder what you will be doing with those apples?? Hmmmm....

Pork Chops w/maple apples

4 pork loin chops
1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 apples, cored and thinly sliced
1 small red onion, cut into thin wedges
2 minced garlic cloves
1/4 cup apple juice
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 Tablespoon maple syrup
2 tsp. fresh thyme or 1 tsp dried

Sprinkle chops w/salt and pepper. Heat oil in medium pan over med-high heat. Add chops. Cook 8-12 mts. until they reach 145 degrees. Turn 1/2 way through. Remove from pan. Cover with foil. Let stand 3 minutes. Add apples, onion, and garlic to pan. Cook 2 mts. Stir occasionally. Add apple juice. Cook 4 mts. until liquid almost evaporated and apples are crisp tender. Stir together whip. cream, maple syrup, and thyme. Pour over apples. Cook and stir 1-2 mts. until sauce starts to thicken. Serve apple mixture over pork chops. Can add fresh thyme over top.

Hope you enjoy it!!

Here's a healthy treat that might actually help your hearts as well:

2c of raw almonds
1 egg white
1 tsp of water
Directions: whip water and white until fluffly/foamy and pour onto the almonds in bowl. Stir to coat

Mix;2 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 sugar (or we use 1/4 Stevia)
pinch of salt (0ptional)
Pour on to the almonds. Spread on cookie sheet and bake at 250 degrees from one hour (stir midway.
Let cool.

I make a double batch each time and put them in snack bags with about 1/2 c or 28 almonds = 100 calories (with Stevia).
Addictive but they are excellent sweet satisfier, fiber, and good for heart health.

I count them out and put them in snack bags so we at least know that 1/2 cup or about 28 make 100 calories. otherwise you reach down the whole bag is gone!

Good morning all! Hope you all are being active this summer.
My DH and I are finally doing some wrapping up on our kitchen remodel that we started back in May. It has made this summer fly by for sure. I haven't had time to do much else. If I get my walking in each day, it is a good day! wink

We have torn down walls, rebuilt walls, put in wood flooring, painted, new cabinets, new countertops, sink, faucet, plumbing, electric, etc. I have been sleeping really well on the weekends!! laugh

Hopefully, things are getting back to some norm around here. I can catch up on bills, exercise more, and talking with you guys.
Take care and have a magical day!! Catch me up on some of your exercise routines this summer.

Well I've started my diet countdown..I want to lose half a stone (7lb ) Tho I must admit the amount of walking that we do whilst at WDW helps combat all that awesome food..

Well good afternoon! After surviving some fast-paced running around these few days, I am starting to calm down and slow down. That is the trouble with me in pretty weather. I find tons of things to do and want to finish them up then. lol
Walking is taking a priority these evenings after dinner. We need to start getting in shape for our vacation out west. Lots of hiking to do, so we need to get some strength training. Still waiting to see if wdw puts out any deals for rooms for the winter months. I have it bad!! I would go to wdw today if my DH would go!! biggrin
Making a meditteranean meal tonight for dinner. Lots of fresh veggies from the garden.
Hope everyone is outside today! It is gorgeous here! Sun, breeze, 70s, and low humidity which is very unique for July!!
Have a wonderful Disney day!!
