Dining in Disney

You woke up early, making your way to Epcot at rope drop so you could RUN to The Land Pavilion, park tickets in hand, just to get those coveted FastPasses for Soarin'. And now that you have the FastPasses and your family has finally caught up with, you realize that in your rush to make rope drop you forgot to eat breakfast.

On a recent visit to the Magic Kingdom it was about 3 p.m. when I realized (1) I was starving and (2) I wasn't going to get anywhere near Casey's because Main Street was a mass of humanity thanks to the parade. As disappointed as I was to not be eating corn dog nuggets and fries with cheese, I had another less hectic location in mind. So, in an attempt to avoid the crowds my friend and I headed through the castle, walked past the very long lines at Peter Pan's Flight and it's a small world, turned the corner and then it hit us.

Milkshakes, the icey-cold, delicious, creamy, sweet goodness in a cup that takes us back to childhood. You can drink them as a beverage, eat (?) them as a dessert, side dish, meal, or even as a snack. They're a summery treat that we just can't get enough of, and Disney has more than one spot to quench your thirst with decadent milkshakes.

Every now and then the Disney Beverage program creates a drink so fantastic that it becomes a classic, etched into the memory of Disney fans who spread word of it's goodness across the internet and created even more excitement. One could say that it's been done with the Lapu Lapu at the Polynesian's Tambu Lounge, or at Grey Goose Slushies from the France Pavilion both of which are fan favorites. However perhaps on of the most successful of Disney's magical cocktails has been the Blue Glow-tini.
