The Walt Disney Company Ranked as No. 2 Most Respected Company by ‘Barron’s’

The Walt Disney Company was recently named the second most-respected company in the world by Barron's. Disney has been ranked in the top 10 companies for the last five years, ending up in the number six spot last year.

Disney Named a Recipient of 2015 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award

The Walt Disney Company was recently named one of the 15 recipients of the 2015 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. This award is the highest recognition from the Department of Defense that is given to employers that support National Guard and Reserve employees.

The Walt Disney Company Declares Cash Dividend for Shareholders

If you're a shareholder with The Walt Disney Company we have a bit of news that you'll like to hear. The company has declared a cash dividend of 66 cents per share for the first six month of fiscal year 2015, payable July 29.

Some of the Laid Off Walt Disney World Employees Have Been Rehired

Recently we reported on the layoffs of nearly 250 Walt Disney World Resort cast members who were not only being replaced by foreign workers on temporary H-1B visas, but also had to train these replacement workers. We are now seeing reports that Disney has rehired nearly 120 of these employees and changed their mind about other layoffs in the television division.

Laid Off Disney Employees Had to Train Replacements Before Leaving Job

Imagine being told by your employer that you're being laid off but before you leave your job you'll be required to train your replacements. This is what happened to about 250 Walt Disney World employees last fall as part of what Disney corporate called a "reorganization."

Jay Rasulo, Disney’s Chief Financial Officer, Stepping Down at End of June

The Walt Disney Company's chief financial officer Jay Rasulo will step down at the end of the month according to CEO Bob Iger. Rasulo was passed over for the chief operating officer job back in February when that position went to Tom Staggs.

Solar Farm to be Built Near Epcot Will Provide Energy to Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort area is going to be home to a new solar farm built by Duke Energy. The solar farm will provide solar power to the resort and will be located on about 20 acres of land near World Drive and Epcot Center Drive.

MyMagic+ Program and MagicBands Expanding to Other Disney Parks

Soon Walt Disney World Resort won't be the only Disney Park utilizing the billion dollar MyMagic+ program that includes the ubiquitous MagicBands. According to recent reports, the system will be expanded at other Disney theme parks in some variation.

The Fabulous Fleet of Walt Disney World

Disney fans will sometimes banter about the joke that Disney is home to the world's largest inland Navy. While that's not technically true (Disney's vessels are not armed) it certainly has an impressive fleet!
